Description
Most Compelling AU Certificate for the 2014-2015 Mature Fanfiction Competition . You have no idea how fun this was to make!
April is an explorer from the Victorian era who is searching for the mysterious Ghosts of the Jungle. She is escorted and protected by a young warrior from a nearby tribe through the wild forrest as she tries to find the rarely seen mythical creatures.
Casey's look is inspired by Mayan, Aztec and Kwakiutl culture and clothing.
Composition is slightly inspired by Trouble Afoot by Jed Henry.

Absolutely phenomenal artist. This is such and incredibly gorgeous piece. Love the detail and the raw talent that went into this. Fantastic idea too, not generally a huge fan of AUs (I suppose because they typically aren't logical or well done), but this is simply amazing. Love the richness of the world you've created. So much of this place you've created is communicated through one piece, and the others in the series just keep building on that. You are a wonderfully talented artist. Definitely looking forward to more of the beauty from your mind <3

Your background art does look like that from Disney's Tarzan (which is a compliment, by the way). I am going to have to get knee deep into this new story. The art is so compelling - and gorgeous!
