Description
Governed by the city of Cusa. It is undoubtedly the most powerful of the Alarian states, at least the only one that can afford some autonomy in foreign policy. Like many Alarian states, it has played a game between Viridia (and later Taured) and the Free States over the centuries.
In the last century it relied on the Free States, especially Haermark and Reiten.

It is not a very rich land, but it is quite populous and the subjects are devoted to the ruling house, the Gallos, both thanks to the military exploits of previous centuries, but also thanks to a shrewd policy of religious tolerance and a not too oppressive tax policy.

Tebasto II rebuilt the country after the dramatic defeat in the War of the Viridian Succession, and his son Eraldo continued the family policy both abroad and at home.
The next duke, the young Zeno, already seems to have a flair for governing.

The flag represents the sunset sky where the star Vrae, the evening eye, shines. In the blue quarter, symbolising faith in the Goddess, stands the triple hellebore. A poisonous plant that also appears in the duchy's motto 'Sicut Elleborus', signifying that the duchy is beautiful to see, but dangerous to touch.
