Description
The Haermark army is still almost entirely a professional army. Lockfeld rarely calls its peasants, artisans or workers to arms.
Conscription is only performed, and very unwillingly, at times of great risk to the state. Like during the emperor's war.

Although it is um army of professionals, many soldiers remain in the military for 20 or more years, unlike Reiten, Haermark struggles to adapt its armed forces to modern times.
A large proportion of the officers are still noble, but without this, like the Reitenian Adlingers, translating into a full-time military career. Only a few graduates of the archducal guard then pursue a career as an officer up to the highest ranks.

As a result, troops are often without adequate leadership, let alone adequate training. They are generally slower to perform than their counterparts in Reiten and Zigen, but also compared to the troops of Ardi.
They are brave, with mounted troops often bordering on recklessness. The infantry charge all too willingly at the bayonet.

In the picture, the soldiers wear the white uniform and red trousers of the regular army, reminiscent of those of the guard, except for the use of a tall shako as headgear instead of the leather helmet.

In the foreground, Sergeant Reimund Von Traugen, a young officer who has just been promoted from the guard's cadets, can be seen.
