Description
“Man when I find him I’m going to kill him bring him back to life and kill him again,” (Name) was out of breath but still continued to run throw the snowy forest. She looked to the ground and the trees trying to find some trace of her best friend Mathew.

(Name) stopped again; she was running for who knows how long. Mathew was bigger, stronger, and smarter than (Name). He was born in this world while she was born in the city which she found to pretty annoying so she moved to the country that’s where she met him. He was blunt, rude, and sarcastic and still is. Mess with the bull and you get the horns that was Mathew whenever he got angry but not this time. This time he ran away in a huff and (Name) set out to find him but he was faster.

“Stupid tracker jerk,” she breathed. Mathew knew the woods and how to hunt though he never really did unless he had to. He was in tune with all the wild life of Canada even had pet wolf named Kuma.

“I should’ve brought him with me he could’ve smelled him out.” (Name) said to herself. She caught her breath and continued to run. The cold air made her able to see her breath with every huff and puff. She stopped again and tried to catch her breath. She looked to her right for whatever reason and saw foot prints. She smiled and followed the trial.

“You slipped up Canadian Maple Butt, I’m gonna find you,” she sang to herself. She ran along the trail the best she could. She went up a small hill and stopped she saw Mathew sitting against a tree his back to her and (Name) had an idea. She slowly walked towards him making sure the ice under her feet didn’t alarm him.

She got close enough and picked up some snow and molded into a snowball, she aimed and fired. It hit Mathew right on the head he cursed and turned around. (Name) fist pumped in the air and laughed.

“Booyah direct hit!”

Mathew exhaled sharply and shook the snow from his hair and turned around away from (Name). (Name) walked up to him and made another snowball, she threw it and it hit him in the face.

He fell to his side and (Name) laughed, “Boom headshot!”

“Fucking stop!” Mathew said wiping his face, he picked up some snow and threw it at her. (Name) didn’t even move Mathew missed anyway.

“Mattie,” she said sternly.

“I’m fine leave me alone!” He snapped. (Name) could see his heavy breaths of rage with the cold air. It was nothing like her calm solemn breaths.

“Mattie if you were fine, you would’ve hit me dead on.”

“I don’t give a shit, leave me alone!” He barked.

“Why are you still here go away!” He yelled. (Name) jumped at the birds being stirred by Mathew’s voice. Mathew noticed and looked away from her. (Name) stood still in the snow still looking to Mathew. The night sky was calming and set the mood for peace. (Name) walked over to Mathew slowly making sure not to provoke him.

She stood next him his hair fell over his face hiding it from her. His fists were clenched and he sat with one knee to his chest the other out forward. (Name) went to her knees and hesitated to say or do anything, she didn’t know what he would do.

“Mattie,” she said softly.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” he grumbled.

“But Mattie,” she lightly placed a hand on his shoulder and he shook it off. (Name) folded her hands together and sighed, “Mattie come on.”

“No, I’m fine. I’m not angry, pissed, or….sad okay just drop it.”

“If you were you wouldn’t have left like that.”

“I can leave wherever and whenever I want; I wasn’t going to take any more of that bullshit!” The more Mathew talked the more his voice broke. (Name) scooted closer to him and he didn’t do anything, she went to a sitting position and leaned her head on his shoulder.

“Mathew…I don’t think Francis really means it.”

“Yes he does, he never talks and when he does it’s when he has something to say….he meant it…..he wants me dead.”

(Name) was quiet she didn’t know what else to say. How do you talk to someone as stubborn as Mathew? He was hurting, hurting badly.

“(Name)…I appreciate it that you came all this way looking for me but I really don’t want to talk right now. I just…..I just don’t want to talk.”

(Name) nodded and stood up she wiped the snow from her pants and stood before him, “Okay we don’t have to talk if you don’t want to….can we walk instead?”

He looked up at her and with bland dark violent eyes and sighed and hung his head. He stood up not saying anything and walked. (Name) smiled softly and followed him. (Name) followed Mathew not knowing where they were going just glad that Mathew did something that put her at somewhat ease.

The walked in comfortable silence together, Mathew gave the occasional sigh and (Name) couldn’t help but glance at him when he did. She remained silent though as Mathew wished. She wanted to talk to him but it would be pointless, it would just make him angrier. (Name) looked down to their feet she was behind him and their footsteps were in sync. Yet they were different Mathew’s were smooth and comfortable he knew how to walk through the snow while (Name)’s were rough and a little wobbly.

‘How does he do it?’ She asked herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when she bumped right into Mathew. He had stopped and (Name) rubbed her aching forehead.

“Ow Mattie you know I hate it when people do that.”

Mathew covered her mouth and shushed her. She stood still and looked to him wondering what the heck he was doing. He pointed the ground and (Name) saw why he stopped.

She almost didn’t see it with its coat blended in with the white snow. A pure white rabbit sat in the snow she moved Mathew’s hand stepped forward. Mathew put his hand her shoulder and held her back he leaned in and whispered in her ear.

“Don’t scare it.”

(Name) nodded slowly and carefully walked forward. The rabbit seemed to not notice her presence and was cleaning its face. It was beautiful small, round, and bright blue eyes. The rabbit froze and looked to (Name). She stiffed and didn’t move hoping it would run away. The rabbit continued to look at her and breathe quickly. Every breath it took its nose moved and it looked absolutely adorable.

It made a little hop towards (Name) and she stood still, another hop, and then another. (Name) went to her knees and held out her hand slowly. The rabbit made one more hop and sniffed (Name)’s hand. (Name) tried to hold in her giggle the rabbit’s whiskers tickled her fingers. The rabbit hoped onto her lap and started to climb up her chest to her shoulder. (Name) held the rabbit and stood up; she turned around to Mathew who tried to hide his red cheeks.

(Name) walked up to him with the rabbit in hand, “Isn’t he cute?” (Name) sighed.

“Y-yeah I guess,” Mathew grumbled. He thought (Name) holding the rabbit was adorable but there was no way he was going to tell her that. (Name) smiled and held out the rabbit a bit.

“Pet him,” she said.

“Uh no thanks,” he refused. He backed away a bit and (Name) pouted.

“Come on, just pet him it’ll make you feel better,” she sang. Mathew rolled his eyes and huffed.

“I don’t think petting a bunny is going to make me feel better,” he said stalely.

“Oh yeah well how do you know,” she questioned.

“Because it’s stupid!” He snapped. (Name) exhaled through her nose and glared at him.

“Mathew pet the bunny, now!” She yelled. More birds flew from the tress and Mathew gulped and reached his hand out. (Name) smiled as Mathew began to pet the rabbit.

“You’re looking calmer already.” She said.

Mathew scoffed and continued to pet the rabbit. It was so small and hadn’t eaten recently Mathew could tell he assumed it was still pretty young. (Name) made a little noise and looked behind her. She saw on the ground a much bigger rabbit nudging her foot with its head.

“It’s the mom, give him back. He needs to eat,” Mathew said.

“Oh uh right,” (Name) bend down and let the rabbit go, he hopped to his mother and they both hopped back into the forest. (Name) watched them go and smiled at the two animals. Wild life was always so fascinating especially in the winter. (Name) still had her back turned when she felt a cold sensation on the back of her head. She couldn’t help but fall forward and face plant into the snow. She lifted her head up and turned around on her back to find Mathew laughing at her.

“Revenge!” He shouted and continued to laugh. (Name) glared at him and stood up. She had a snowball in her hand but was about to throw it but then Mathew came out with another snowball and threw it at her chest, (Name) fell back again and Mathew laughed even harder.

“Oh man, you were right I do feel better,” he laughed. (Name) grumbled and started throw globs of snow at him. Mathew cursed and ran behind the tree and ducked for cover. (Name) ran behind a nearby tree as well and waited for Mathew to fire first.

(Name) peeked out from the tree and ducked back from and incoming snowball. Mathew continued to throw snowballs at her preventing (Name) to throw any back. (Name) made a snowball and waited for Mathew to stop.

“You’re gonna have to come out sometime!” Mathew called.

(Name) bit her lip and slowly peeked out from the tree, Mathew wasn’t looking in her direction and (Name) thought she would take this opportunity. She was about to throw it at him but then looked up and noticed a tree branch with snow on it. She smiled and threw her snowball at the branch.

The snow on the branch fell all over Mathew sending him to the ground and covered him completely. (Name) held her stomach from laughing so hard.

“And I still beat you!” She shouted and continued to laugh.

Mathew popped up from the snow and glared at her he scoffed then he gave an evil grin, “You better start running!”

“Oh crap,” (Name) started running and she could hear Mathew’s footsteps behind her. She knew he was faster and running throw the snow didn’t help her.

She didn’t get far because Mathew grabbed her from behind. (Name) couldn’t help but laugh, Mathew lost his balance and fell over with (Name) in his arms. They both fell down in the snow laughing. (Name) looked up at the night sky and her breath. She looked to Mathew who was also looking up at the sky. She climbed on top of him and looked down at him.

He directed his eyes to hers and blinked. He moved hair from his eyes and continued to stare at her. (Name) was silent for a while then finally decided to talk to him.

“Please talk to him,” she said softly.

“(Name),” he sighed and turned his head away. (Name) moved his head back and stared right into his eyes.

“Mathew I’m really serious. Things are never going to be easier around him if you don’t talk to him.”

Mathew was silent for a bit and then exhaled, “Fine.” He sighed.

(Name) smiled and gave him a kiss on the forehead, “Good.” She punched him in the chest and Mathew coughed up a great bit of air.

“What the hell?”

“Don’t make me run out here for you again, you scared me.”

Mathew turned his head and pouted, “I said I wanted some air and that was I was trying to get.”

“There was air in the house dummy,” she retorted.

“Shut up,” Mathew grabbed her shoulders and flipped her over. He was now on top of her and grinning (Name) had a poker face then smiled.

“On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true,” she began to sing. Mathew grimaced and climbed off her. He walked away and plugged his ears.

“Shut up with the fucking song!”

(Name) got up and followed him still singing, “So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair and golden twilight in your eyes of blue.”

“My eyes aren’t even blue what the fuck?”

“Hey yeah, that’ weird,” (Name) ran in front of him and grabbed his face and looked deep into his eyes. Mathew blushed and blinked rapidly unable to do anything.

“Why are they this weird purple violet thingy? Isn’t that impossible? This isn’t some anime, why are your eyes that color?”

“I don’t know let go,” Mathew grabbed her arms and placed her at her sides. She continued to smile at him and started to giggle.

“Your face is red.”

“Shut up,” Mathew said covering his mouth.

“What do you get embarrassed when I touch you?” She asked.

Mathew speed walked past her but (Name) continued to follow, “Shut up.”

“Or is it because you like me?” She asked.

“Screw you!”

“You wanna hug me, you wanna hold me, you wanna kiss me~!”

“(Name) I swear to God!”

(Name) giggled and ran up next to him and grabbed his hand he made no objections and gripped hers tight.
