AKA: what would happen if a cat and a Pop-Tart were spliced together.

OMG, I liked the initial work because I thought it was cute but now that I see that it's animated I positively love it. I'm serious, some times it's the simple things that just inspire happiness and even though I imagine a lot of work went into this the simplicity of the scene just makes me smile. I think for the most part it has a very fluid motion to it, it's a lot better than pretty much all of the animated things I've created. I do wonder how many frames did you have to use for this? I'm thinking at least twenty but I'm terrible at guessing these things.

AWWW I love the newer more detailed look you gave her, it makes Nyan Cat look just plain adorable. I also like how you made more fluid movements with all of her body like her legs sliding and her head bobbing. Now I just wanna see her having a tea part with Fluffle Puff

First of all, this is one cool animation! I can see the stars and all flying at high speed and you have considered how much the body moves in the original nyan cat video. The animation quality is well done. I also like how you incorporated the original design of nyan cat into your own style, as opposed to making it pixelated, which, to be honest, would have made it seem to much like the original. So good move there. I also admire the detail into the stars that you thought out, making them just like the original. One thing that bugs me, however, is the animation in the rainbow. I feel that the two opposite frames there are imbalanced. It seems that at one point in the motion there's an annoying bump, which disturbs the animation. I also don't like how you made the cat fly at an angle - it's not like the original and it just seems strange, and it makes it look as if the cat is strained. I also think that the rainbow is missing some purple at the bottom. I know you did include purple but it looks more indigo-ish in my opinion, and should be closer to the original. Overall, however, I can see that the animation must have taken you a lot of time, and the end result is very professional. You should feel proud.

Thanks for your critique.
The rainbow was very tedious to do, and the end result isn't very good. Ah well, there's always improvement.

Greetings from the ProjectComment!
This piece has immediately caught my eyes. And that itβs a whole animation makes it even better.
Because itβs a remade animation, I compared it with the original:
Your version of the cat looks much cuter because of the huge eyes and a better shape of the mouth. Also, with the fur on her cheeks, she looks more like a cat. It was a good move to use thinner outline. This way, her features arenβt hidden under the black. It has a nice, cartoony feel.
- to make it even closer to a real cat, the ears should be bent in the opposite direction. Also, like in the original, the eyes look a bit hollow. Consider adding a little white dot of reflected light.
The colors are more elaborated and vibrant. The whiter stars just pop out. I like the transitions on the tail, the wider spectrum makes for a better flow. The whole animation is smoother, the cat drifts through the space. But that comes with an issue:
The original cat jumps up and down, as if galloping in the air. Your cat moves in a similar way but her paws donβt. The tail is good but the paws move just a bit, they donβt gallop back and forth. Also, the head of the original moves separately of the front paws, the yours is almost like glued there. The lack of movement saps some of the animationβs life. Iβd advise you to make the movement more visible (the paws going farther behind the body) the next time. Itβs a bit time-consuming but would make your piece even better.
As a little note, I noticed that the tail looks flat as if pressed against something, when going down.
Iβve addressed all those points in a picture, marking red the things to improve. www.imagehosting.cz/?v=nyancayβ¦
Overall, itβs a beautiful animation, itβs hard to set eyes off it. I hope youβll continue with animating. Good luck! Β
