watercolour sketch of a harpist.I was watching BBC's young musician - strings, and was entranced by the emotion the players had upon their faces when playing, especially the harpists. This certainly isn't the best portrayal, but music and emotion is something i'd like to explore further.

It didn't scan too well.. and I always intended to make a less 'doodled' version when I had the time to get proper reference of a harp etc, as I drew this while watching them play on the TV, not long enough to really observe the intricacies of a musical instrument XD

ugh, scanners. always such a hassle. i often wish i could just shove the paper into the screen and,... poof!theres your picture, all perfect and on the internet! but still, i think the sketchy 'doodled' quality gives an interesting sort of touch.

i'm happy to have seen this picture...i really love music but never could have imagined that someone really could paint the feelings it transported...if people draw to music it's usually only the images (like a sunny day in the forest etc.) the music transports but never the feeling...simply amazing
(i'm sorry for getting so emotional...i just sometimes can't stop myself and go on babbling about stuff noone really wants to hear

I simply painted that which I was watching the mucisian play on TV.. I can't for the life of me remember which piece it was... I found that out of all musicians harpists have the craziest expressions. I was annoyed when the little violin player got through instead of this wonderful harpist XD
