It's such a sweet picture and the concept is used often but I really really love your interpretation here.
The bareness of the background adds to it a lot.

This felt like a punch to my sternum.
Although this is about "trial separation" and not necessarily long distance relationships, I still can feel that exact same weight that the girl in your picture feels since my boyfriend and I live in different countries - he lives in London, I'm in Massachusetts.
But it's been a long time since I've really felt a piece simple as this hit me so hard. And it's somewhat related to a series I'm going to start next!

That's how you know your art is good - there would be no point if it didn't affect people somehow! Something about the starkness of this image just really fit with my underlying doubts, which persist in spite of how happy I am with my boyfriend... But thank you for posting this! ^_^

Thanks. like I said to some others I have never been in this position since I have yet to have a serious relationship, and that made it difficult to do a drawing with an emotion I don't have. But I'm glad I seemed to have succeeded

actually my art is of a totally different genre to my dolls. Despite what it may seem, my dolls are my box. where I can do fantasy art, anime, or whatever else whenever I feel like it. I wouldn't want to do the fantasy or anime type illustrations anyway XD

I think if you want to do art for fun, no one's opinion of anything should stop you. But because I want to be a commercial illustrator you have to think like the masses and not just make art for yourself, but for the purpose too.
