I'm unfamiliar with the story you mention; still, I find this to be a strong and intriging picture. It looks like something out of an old fairy tale: Death as a lady, sitting by the side of a road, ignored by everyone who passes by...until Vlad Tepes happens by and gallantly offers his arm.

You guessed the plot of the story - this drawing illustrates the final epizode, in that becomes clear that Death was one and faithful bride of Vlad Tepes.
I must note, this is not suprising - he introduced to her so many people.
