Description
The Triassic-Jurassic boundary is one met with great natural strife; it is marked by a massive extinction event likely caused by the breakup of the ancient supercontinent of Pangaea. It is probably the reason that dinosaurs were able to take over and lead to the absolute giants of the Jurassic and Cretaceous.

One cast member that transcends this boundary is Coelophysis, a small theropod that is also known as Syntarsus, Megapnosaurus, Rioarribasaurus, and possibly includes Podekosaurus, Eocoelophysis, and other genera. These highly adaptable animals hold a unique position anthrozoologically too: they were among the first dinosaurs ever to be restored with feathers! Ironically enough, this was long before they were even thought to have feathers, but their overall bird-like nature must've inspired their artists!

At Popular Unpopular Dinosaur Park, our group enjoy visitors greatly, with many of the individuals coming right up to the glass to watch people as intently as they view the dinosaurs! Coelophysis' popularity likely stems from the aforementioned feathered appearances, BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs, and their position as one of the earliest known dinosaurs. They're pretty much a poster dinosaur for the Triassic Period!
