is a trendsetter! XD She made an Inuyasha piece called "Kagome Is", which is not only well-drawn and funny, but supports one of my favorite things--canon. Firestar loves canon and will always support that which is ACTUALLY IN CHARACTER. Anyway, the idea was contagious and other artists made similar pieces for other Inuyasha characters. Eventually, it spread to other fandoms, such as Metroid and The Phantom of the Opera. I believe is doing a Danny Phantom piece, and she was nice enough to point me in the direction of 's "Character Is" journal, where she graciously leaves the project open to anyone who wants to participate. That can be found here: [link]So here's my "Sam Is" piece. I think Sam is a really cool character, so hooray for her. I also think canon is awesome. Hooray for canon! *throws confetti*.
This was done in a B pencil and colored on Photoshop Elements, and it seemed to take forever, but Firestar had plenty of time this week to work on it, since she now is distinctly lacking a job. XD
Thanks to for opening her project and giving me permission to do this, and thanks to for bringing it to my attention! Hooray for cool people. XD

I like it! Very to the point because Sam loves Danny and would never be with anyone else as for Danny he loves Sam too much to want a fake OC character! I hate when they do that crap! I do it in my fanfics, but she always ends up with Danny and never is someone she isn't.

I can honestly say I've never seen a story where Sam "rolls over and dies" for an OC. That would be refreshing compared to all the fics that demonize her into an intolerable shrew to make sure their OC is there to save Danny from her evilness with their ~*love magic*~ There's nothing I hate more than people making one of my most favorite characters OOC just so they can have their way. If you have to change her to make whatever other pairing work out, then that just strikes me as poor writing.
Canon is canon. DxS gives me warm and fuzzy feelings. I regretfully say that I get a tiny bit aggressive when I defend it...
I also like how the fact that Sam is not a whiny, suicidal emo kid. As dark and dreary as her image is, she never really struck me as particularly depressed. Even if she's not completely ecstatic about the way life is, she's at least content.

Look, when I turned Hatsune Miku into a villain, it WASN'T just to further the relationships of my OCs. I just did it because I hate Hatsune Miku for non-romantic reasons. And even then, there's an in-story explanation about why Miku is a villain now (in fact, I made Miku more of a victim than anything).
Note that I also hate Haruhi Suzumiya, yet I was much more benevolent with her.

God, I miss this show! Sam was one of my favorite characters (it's between her and Danny). I got obsessed with it over a year ago and am obsessed with again. It's one of the many reasons I'm on dA in the first place.

I'm lucky I don't have to miss it--I've got DVDs and videos in case I ever feel the need to visit. I will always love my Danny--he made me want to write and draw again, made me want to pick up pens and pencils and paper at a time I thought I'd put them away for good, and that's a gift I'll always be grateful for. Aren't we lucky, every day? *^_^*

I actually stopped watching near the end, only catching reruns. I remember watching Beauty Marked and Secret Weapons a lot (it's a good thing I liked those episodes). It was in late February 2010 that I was flipping through channels and found Nicktoons Network (now just Nicktoons and NOT airing just cartoons) and DP reruns were on. I haven't seen the show in a while (they used to air some episodes, like Beauty Marked, early Saturday mornings on Nick; they stopped for some reason), so I somewhat forgot what it was like. I started watching it and I remembered how much I loved it back then (it seemed forever ago to me). I started getting obsessed though and had to leave the fandom for I while(I wasn't contributing much anyway)and focus on school and my characters (I want to write novels and I like to start with the characters first). But now I'm obsessed again. I'm fine, but it's kind of hard for me to find episodes to watch (they rarely or never air them on Nicktoons anymore) and I can't get them on DVD or video because it's kind of a secret obsession that my family (well, maybe my brothers, but they're hiding it) doesn't know about and I just can't ask them. I'll try. It sucks being 15 (am I allowed to mention my age? I really don't know). Anyway, I wasn't this obsessed with the show back then, but now that it's gone, I miss it. I guess I (anyone, really) never really love something until it's gone (or hard to find or get to to).

Oh, I'm always secretly grateful when I love something long after it's gone...makes me feel more honest about my love, that I can still enjoy something so thoroughly long after most people have written it off as a fad. When I was 24, I asked for a VCR and a cable box for Christmas just so I could tape things like Danny Phantom.
I'm also grateful that, as Jhonen Vasquez so eloquently put it, my family is always a little too weirded out to ask what I'm really up to most of the time. *^_~*

Girl. *winks.* And heroes are people who race in and out of burning buildings to rescue people and animals or get stabbed during parade riots keeping the peace or are younger than me sitting halfway around the world with guns strapped to their backs getting shot at, all just for trying to do their jobs. Or people who stand on street corners with jars raising money for cancer research, or people who put their careers on the line to stand up for someone who's not there to defend herself.
