Description
After almost 2 months of having a quiet DA, I'm back to spamming you with my last minute Christmas present
Uni has been killing me XP But I think next term should be better because we aren't having 9-5 or 9-6 days XP
A decent FFXII wallpaper done in the style of the LOTR silhouette posters. I have one in my room. I would really like to make this into a t-shirt but I've sworn off making merchandise... (Is it possible to do this through DA?)
This took way too long because it was hard to choose poses that looked dynamic, reflected the characters' personalities and could translate into silhouettes decently @_@
I'm still not too happy with how Vaan looks though. If anyone can see that it's him...
Ashe was the easiest and I didn't change her pose at all. She's supposed to be carrying the Treaty Blade. I included Larsa because I had really good times running around with him in my party on Ozmone plain for 20+ hours XP
I wanted to put a sunset behind this but it looked too fake. Maybe I'll make a version with all the proper backlighting one day XD

holycrapIloveyou. I always find it hard to find a good wallpaper that isn't overstated, titillated, or straying in the direction of KAWAIIII-DESU~. So yes, thank you for this. FFXII was just so detailed, so filled-out, so beautifully, mechanically broken... but anyway.

By the end of my first playthrough, Ashe could pretty much beamspam scathe and holy like it was nobody's business. Then there was the overall uselessness of the espers and quickenings (outside of, say, zodiark) and that one accessory that reversed the effect of restorative items, including (I think) phoenix downs. But who cares. I still love that game.

I loved nihopaloa (the thing that reversed item effects)! I used it to killchain things after my HP got too high for potions to heal effectively. :3 But my favourite part was the gambits. It made going through repetitive dungeons a bit easier.
I was playing more for the story.

Urg, gambits. I was always too cheap to buy new ones and too impatient to configure them. As a result, I pretty much ended up with 6 party members who smacked monsters in range and healed people when they were on the verge of death. *sigh*
Yeah, the story was definitely the best part. I actually avoided saving sometimes just so I could watch the cutscenes again. I got all the way to the end. Gabranth turned into a pushover when I blinded him, Vayne was a pansy, I barely managed Vayne Novus by shooting down those stupid swords... and then the Undying pretty much pimpsmacked everyone into oblivion with 6 standard attacks. I was displeased. I ground out a crapload of levels and tried again, got destroyed again, started leveling again, did something stupid and corrupted my save. I was much displeased. I ended up just looking up a transcript of the epilogue and I'm currently trying again. Zodiak spear or bust, baby.

I spent 20 hours level grinding to reach level 55 (which is the level of the final bosses, according to an online game guide) and then just coasted through the second half of the story.

Psh. That's no fun. I always had fun reading all the new monster bios. All the monsters with the headless behemoth base had the scariest backstories.

That is awesome. As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I thought 'It's FFXII, LotR style'. Very nice.
The first character I noticed specifically was Larsa (I am so pleased you included him; he s such a great character) but I identified Vaan with no problem. His arms are up, right? The pose for each character is fitting.

Well Vaan is really just along for the ride. I like to think of it as Vaan's coming-of-age story and Ashe's coming-down-to-earth story.
I liked Vaan, Penelo and Larsa's little moments though. Since they were the only kids in the group.

Yeah, I veiwed them as kids too. Vaan really is just along for the right isn't he? And for Ashe it's like "be humble damn you woman!" Her pride started to get on my nerves mid-game.

Well, I think it's both pride and culture shock for Ashe. I like to think of them as one big family: Ashe and Basch as the parents, Fran and Balthier as the cool aunt and uncle, and Vaan, Penelo and Larsa as the kids. XD

This is very lovely. I think you've captured Vaan and Basch wonderfully. I didn't have trouble discerning anyone, but I guess before the large view I knew the characters it would depict; it was only a matter of who was where. I hope to see more wallpapers from you in the future

I think I liked him a lot because his appearances were few and far between. But the time when he joined the party was really fun! It's just like the appeal of limited edition stuff.
