I'm soo happy with the end result here! I decided to try doing art with a limited colour pallette and this is the first one (there's likely to be 3 in total) I also wanted to draw rain and I'd say it went pretty well? Also, much like the 2 other upcoming pallette speedpaints this has a theme and a story behind. I quess it's pretty obivious based on my song choices in the video ; )

I love the emotion you managed to capture with this piece. The rain and muted color palette adds so much to the atmosphere and lack of detail in the background really makes the main character stand out but you can still understand what the location is. The fact that the only bright color in the piece is the purple in the eyes of the character really pulls the viewer in and highlights the fact that she is crying. The detail in the hair and the tears is amazing and give a very organic feel to the character, she definitely feels like she is alive and I can almost hear her sniffling as she tries to keep from sobbing out loud.
There are a couple of distracting elements in the painting, but neither really are horrible. First is the white outline that's only on the left side of the character, I'm not really sure what that is but it draws my eye away from the character. The second is the gray discoloration that seems to run through the background. I'm guessing that this is the shadow from the bus stop overhang, drawn in in Sai or Photoshop darken the tint and then the edge was moved around the character to add the shading on her. The shading really should just be on the foreground, not the background, it's really strange to see the trees changed hue in the middle of the background. These may seem like a nitpicks but constructive criticism needs to show areas to improve or it's not all that helpful.
Overall, I love this piece. There is a story behind this, and I want to know more about this character. What happened to upset her? Where is she running away to? Is she going to be okay? This is just a great example of excellent visual storytelling. Fantastic work.
