Lyn is a very 'go-with-the-flow' kind of girl, loathing the thought of being stuck to any kind of routine or schedule. She enjoys doing what she wants, when she wants, and can sometimes slack off because of it. She can be a bit of a diva at times, but overall she’s quick to chill out, lay back, and she never lets stress get to her. Stressing her out would be like trying to run underwater; usually because she either doesn’t care all that much, or perhaps because she realizes stressing doesn’t get her job done any quicker. As a nurse however, she usually comes off as a cool cat, calm and level-headed and never throwing a fit in a crisis. Unless, of course, she has somebody to blame. She’s never afraid to bluntly state how she feels, and this can sometimes make her come off as a little rude. But if she’s able to befriend others, she looks at them with a deep respect and is very appreciative of their company. With her deep - somewhat more childish - fear of evolution, breaking her secrets to them however makes her a bit timid, and she brushes it off with sarcasm and witty remarks. Overall though, she does her best to come off as polite, and doesn’t get herself worked up if things don’t go her way.
Even with her level-headed personality, there are some times Lyn can be very childish in the ways of her thinking. She doesn’t always grasp the severity of some situations, and with her mellow outlook on everything, serious things may not be handled as mature as they should with this Glameow. When it comes to healing of course, that’s a different story. But things like her friend’s emotional pain and troubles, well, even if all she wants to do is make them feel better, she doesn’t really know how. Her attempts to help can sometimes go the wrong way, but in the end, she’s always trying! She can also be immature in the way of her fears. Never stressed, the only thing Lyn really fears is evolution, as stated earlier, hence the loose necklace around her throat. And Lastly, she can be very prissy and feminine. She hates getting dirty or wet, and although she isn’t obsessively afraid of germs Lyn can be finicky when it comes to hygiene.

History :

Walking along the beach – no, it was more like skipping - , the tiny Glameow’s bright amber and blue gaze scanned the shoreline purposefully. The gray catty pokemon was barely 7 years old, and it was a mystery to all the others in the field of pale sand why she possibly could’ve been there. And even more curious as to why she was there every morning. Slateport City was built long ago along a beach, and the structures actually reached out deeper into the ocean, where the town became a beautiful harbour. Yet even though the salty breeze attracted many, the space was actually quite calm, and never felt over-crowded. Probably because so many of the residents spent all their time out on the boats, or at least that’s what Lynette assumed. Focusing all her attention back to what she was doing, she ignored the occasional pokemon that would stare; their looks were always the same. They’d watch her bemusedly, then quickly scan up and down the shoreline for somebody who was surely Lyn’s parent. Pokemon this young usually weren’t alone wandering around the beach. But Lyn was an only child, and without others to play and compete with, she usually spent her time memorizing the routes around Slateport to the point that her parents trusted her to know her way home. Of course, that didn’t stop them from kneeling to her level, holding her chin, and telling her firmly that she was never to talk any sass to strangers. They could be dangerous, her mother had meowed scornfully.
Many things her mother said caught the calm child’s attention, and some words she grasped more firmly than others. Hence why she was out here every day. Finding what she was looking for, the Pokemon’s cork-screw like tail flicked it’s tip excitedly, and Lyn rushed over to bend down and stare into the tidepool. Surely enough, she could see a small Magikarp and two Luvdisk swimming around lazily in the small space. Picking them up gingerly in her lady-like paws, she then made quick work snagging them, rushing them over to the ocean shore, and tossing them out into the sea. She recalled her mom one time mentioning how pokemon could sometimes get caught in tidepools, and they would be stranded if the tide went out. Since then, every day Lyn would come out and help them; it was something to pass the time.
Most assume this small, kind gesture was the start of her future. The future that made her aspire to be a nurse, and something a bit more than the average sassy cat who swirled their hair and cared only of themselves.
But as life went on, school only got worse for Lynette. Other girls would occasionally get a bit jealous of her looks, since many of the boys had seemed to like her at times. “Don’t pay any attention to her, one day she’ll be a Purugly,” some of them would scoff when their own boyfriends would toss the silvery cat a second glance. Not one to let others get to her in the least, the twirly-tailed pokemon brushed it off with little thought. Although, a seed of doubt had been planted in her mind. She didn’t want to be Purugly! But who would she tell? Her mother was one, so she couldn’t confide with her parents. And her handful of best friends couldn’t be of any help even. Swallowing back these thoughts, Lyn just ignored the darker tidbits and focused on learning as much as she could in school. After all, becoming a nurse was no easy task!
Throughout the rest of her life, everything was calm. Her father spent a lot of time at home, since her mother seemed to always be busy at work, getting home only later in the evenings. But unlike many, Lyn had a very beautiful relationship with her parents, never thinking ill of them and thanking them for being there for her. But as time passed, she knew she’d had to move on eventually, and when she turned 17, all her girlfriends had moved out of their parent’s homes, bragging about how great their new lives were. Feeling left out as everyone started leaving Slateport for bigger and brighter things; she tried to take it all the best that she could. One night, her mother noticed Lyn staring out the window yet again, a soft frown on her white maw. Setting a paw on her daughter’s shoulder, the Purugly smiled. Lyn returned the gesture with a forced purr, but her lack of enthusiasm was evident. Glancing back at her mom, never had Lyn thought of her as ugly. Many were quick to put down a Purugly, but when her mom had found that one kind Persian, they had gotten married and thus, their Glameow was born. But even now, the dark purple pokemon could see that her child wasn’t a baby anymore.
“There’s more out there, y’know. I don’t think you’ve seen enough of it,” her mother chided calmly. Lyn, not knowing what to say really, only nodded, her blue irises following her mother when the older woman slowly crossed over to one of the dressers. Rummaging within the droors for a few moments, she padded back to Lyn with two things in her paws. From one, a ticket. A Train ticket, and although it was curved at an odd angle, Lyn could make out the word ‘pokette’ printed on it in neat letters. But what really caught her eye was a small silver piece of stone in her mom’s other paw, hanging from a black cord. It seemed so…plain. And yet, her heart lurched at the sight of it. The Glameow knew what it was; she had spent enough hours looking for it, asking around, where they might sell them. A Everstone shard. This would stop her from evolving. Well, hopefully. It did, after all, seem quite small. But it hardly mattered to Lyn, and even though she opened her mouth, she failed to form words. At her expression, the Purugly laughed. “You don’t keep secrets as well as you think you do my sweet,” she giggled, handing her daughter the two items. “Take them, I know you’ll do something great.” Swallowing, Glameow couldn’t dampen her bright, thankful grin. “Will….will you take care of the tidepools for me, mom?” And with a quick promise from her mom, Lyn knew she had nothing to worry about. Nothing left for her here in Slateport. And so her journey began, and it’s far from over.

Hobby || Giving Manicures & Spa Treatment
When she’s not healing the sick or out on the town with her girlfriends, Lyn loves giving manicures. Quite odd, yes, but giving her friends a touch of spa treatment is how she likes to try to get Pokemon she cares about to feel as relaxed as she does. Seeing a lot of others constantly rushing and being stressed and showing up wounded, she feels the need to let out her mellow temperament in a more creative way. So, she likes giving little spas within her house, often inviting her friends over so that she can do their nails and share some gossip. Lyn often refers to it as “Girl-time” , but if ever there is the rare occasion a male wouldn’t mind having his hands cleaned up, she never turns anyone down when it’s something she enjoys doing!

Job || Nurse
Lyn has a very kind heart beneath her macho facade, and because of it it’s really no wonder she took a career route where she got to put her patient paws to work. Her very relaxed demeanour makes it easy for her to soothe her patients, and she’s got a real knack wielding berries and bandages. As a nurse, she’ll never turn a blind eye to a Pokemon in any kind of pain or malady, and the Glameow will often go out of her way to make sure others are feeling healthy as can be. Sometimes this makes her come off as a bit too protective of Pokemon she may have just met, but she grows very irritable if she thinks anyone will sabotage their treatment. She makes an effort to understand the more rash and brave characters, finding them odd and making her curious as to why their health might mean so little to them. However, Lyn’s methods aren’t always exactly the most…recommended. If others are doing anything to interfere with her work, she’ll growl at them harsher than most would expect, telling them to loose it and go cool it. She takes a lot of pride in her abilities to heal, and if she has somebody to blame for any mishaps, she’ll usually take the opportunity at any moment to inform them of how much they’ve displeased her. But like everything else she does, the reason for all this is that she just wants to lend a paw, and feel like she’s needed in Pokette.

Favourite Food || Anything Sour
As explained below, Lyn is a lover of all things bursting with tangy flavor! Anything that induces a grimace on most accomplishes only in making her purr. She'll often ad a touch of lemon or lime to some of the oddest foods, and dislikes when most assumes a dainty, cattish Pokemon like herself wouldn't enjoy something a bit stronger than most could eat. She has no particular dish that she enjoys above others, but there are a lot of things she dislikes. Sushi grosses out her hardy appetite, and anything bitter makes his scoff in distaste. She'll try spicy and sweet things, but after chewing on so many Aspear berries, sweets are a bit more bland to her and the burn of spicy things will stubbornly cling to the inside of her mouth for ages.

Favourite Berry || Aspear Berry
A lover of the simpler things, Lyn finds the more common berries have always been her favourites. With a feminine, relaxed temperament, it sometimes comes as a surprise that she also adores sour foods. So, combining sour and common, the berry we come up with is none other than the Aspear berry! She’s capable of looking past it’s extremely tough outer skin to get at the grimace-inducing insides, and Lyn would chew at them all day if she could. Also, with her very thin fur, Lynette often finds herself succumbing to shivering and quivering all through the cool winters. The fact that Aspear berries defrost when eaten simply comes as a bonus; one this Glameow is very thankful for.

Catchphrase || She doesn't actually have a catchphrase, but it’s very common of Lyn to call others “Sugar”, in ways like: sorry ‘bout that, sugar~' She’s also known for occasionally cutting words short, and speaking with a twang of slang. But even if her tone can carry a sharp edge at times, she doesn’t always mean everything she says, and is quick to chill out, drop her pride, and apologise if something slips off her tongue. Or, of course, if somebody decides they didn’t like her calling them sugar.

Accessories || Lyn’s outfits are constantly changing! Because of that, the only thing she can be seen wearing all of the time is long pendant, which she usually actually tucks under her shirt. Hanging from the end of the black cord is actually an Everstone shard, although she usually isn’t quick to share this fact and likes to keep it beneath her other clothes. She’s terrified of evolution, but still stresses the fragment might not be enough, and that without the full stone, she might still end of turning into Purugly eventually. She isn’t usually the self-conscious type, but changing forms to something so much less sleek and feminine occasionally torments her waking thoughts. But to skip to the point, the only thing she’s always wearing is the necklace.
