Description *casually uses smoke effect to partially hide laziness*

Although I actually kinda like the way it adds to the picture

Also I'm really really really really bad at titling things. It's actually kinda ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm glad I was able to make time to work on this because after I got the first WIP done I was actually terrified that I'd never finish it. I really did get kinda sloppy with the jacket, although it's a little harder to tell with the smoke over it.

Done in GIMP with my Wacom tablet.

Man I'm so jealous of how you can keep the edges of faces so sharp and stuff My stuff is always so blurry around the edges. Also that muscle definition. ;-; so good.

Now see I was afraid it was too sharp, and I think it was until I added the smoke. Whenever I try to blur it at all, it becomes too blurry. Typically what I do though is just color inside the lineart and then erase anything that got outside the lines, then erase the lineart, and clean up the edge again with the second softest brush (I forget if you use GIMP or PS or what but GIMP has 4 main round brushes and I've found that the second softest generally does a good job at trimming edges but keeping them smooth simultaneously).

But yes thanks I'm rather proud of all the muscle definition lol

This is really great! I've been watching you go through the progress and I wanted to wait to comment until you were done. I love the angle, it is very unique, and trust me, you're not the only one with tilting issues XD It always amazes me who well you can add details to the face with it still looking smooth keep up the good work

Thanks! Yeah the angle is what really struck me when I first saw the reference - I was like "I've gotta draw that!!"

and lol I've actually been trying to stray away from the smoothness, because I've always thought it makes people look like their skin is made out of plastic. I used a different texture brush while blending this time and it still ended up looking really smooth. But I guess if you're looking at the picture as a whole and not just the skin, it's not so bad

I think smoothness is good in certain parts of the picture, like the eyes are a bit more rough, which is to be expected, but then the cheeks and neck have more smoothness. This is likely different on a male drawing, but for a woman I think it looks good.

Thanks! I was afraid she looked too sharp against the background and therefore the picture looked flat, but I think the smoke helped.
