This was not a good idea.

Takuya had those few, precious moments suspended in the air to fully appreciate how terrible this idea had been. He didn’t know why he’d done it, he had no idea what would spur him to be so, so, so incredibly student.

In his defense, he claims, he had been extremely distressed when he’d made the decision and thereby can’t be held responsible for any terrible ideas he decided to act upon out of rash stupidity.

Now, now that he’s regretting it, now that it’s far too late, he finds that he is to come crashing down upon one unsuspecting Kimura Kouichi.

Also known as, for those who aren’t aware, the boy of his nightmares.

Most aren’t aware of this fact actually, Takuya keeps quite tight lipped on the matter of what transgressed between Kouichi and himself, most specifically how it impacted him. Because it was no real secret that Kouichi, while being manipulated be Cherubimon, had beat Takuya.

What people didn’t know was that it had left Takuya a little shaken in self-confidence, perhaps that’s why he decided to do something so impulsive, something remincient of his old devil-may-care attitude before he realized, via getting his ass handed to him, that thinking out ones actions is a good tactic for not getting decimated.

Perhaps he just—

“Oof!”

And there it was, the mess that Takuya had been dreading, and it was sort of more painful than anticipated as well.

He’d decided to jump on poor, unsuspecting Kouichi.

Kouichi peaked out from behind where Takuya’s arms were accidentally smothering his face, an expression of mild disbelief on his face.

“Uh…” Takuya’s face flushed and words escaped him, why had this ever seemed like a good idea?! “Happy… birthday?”

Its three days too early and they both know it.

This was probably not Takuya’s original intentions, and they both know it.

Regardless, Kouichi’s face breaks into laughter and amidst the sound Takuya isn’t sure whether he’s happy or horrified. He is sure that Kouichi’s arm is securely holding his balance right now, and they both know it.
