The animal form looks pretty good overall. I like that you used several different media to get this work complete. I very much like that transition of value to highlight on the front leg. It is quite smooth, but you can still notice the texture of the animal. The same does for the head where you achieved a similar effect. I think the back an body look a bit unfinished when compared to the other areas I mentioned. It might need blended a little more? It looks as though you have two ways that you are comfortable working and you have worked in those styles in different parts of this work. I feel similar about the mountains, which look a bit unfinished in spots. From reading your background on this work I get that you were experimenting and pushing your skills. I think overall you are doing a really good job. I think the ram looks pretty realistic. It also seems like this is a work in progress so I can't wait to see It when you finish it. Overall, you did a great job on this. Backgrounds are difficult and so is drawing realism!

Very nicely drawn/crafted. This peice has a very warm and truly outward feel. I am tempted to make a joke, but I decided not to, due to ramifications XD!

Hi there! At long last, here is the critique you requested Sorry it took me so long to get to you
I am really impressed with this piece, especially when you explained that everything about this piece was created out of your comfort zone! The colors are beautiful with amazing work on the shading and blending, and the shadows look really consistent (especially on the hills) - you can clearly see where the light source is coming from. The anatomy of the ram is accurate and well detailed, especially his head, and it definitely doesn't look amateur-ish. I've looked some other pieces of your art, and you've got a very unique and interesting style that definitely shows through in this piece too, so well done with this piece!
If I had to critique anything, though, I would say that although you've explained why you did so in the author's comment section, it looks a little odd that the ram is so much larger than the hills he's standing between. Also, I'm not sure what's on the top of his head... is that just a patch of his coat that's colored differently?
Other than those two things, though, I think this piece was very skillfully done, and well detailed
