Well, hats have always been kind of confusing for me, but the thing about this is how it fits on his head. I don't really understand it. Agh, hard to explain, lol.

Fitting things is no problem when you work with a program that can handle different layers like Photoshop or Gimp.
You can paint the body and the hat on different layers. Then you can scale and move the hat (without influecing the body) until it fits.
