Description
Many people think that because I share my nethandle with my character, that my character must be or my fursona.

Not true. Or is it?

Though I've had "Fiz" as a net handle since 2001, I've had a blue fox character since about 2002 who was basically a prototype Fiz. She was more anthro than cartoony, like Fiz is. She had much longer hair and wore glasses and wore high tech clothing. However, she lacked a backstory, personality, or name. When I got into the Sonic fandom I decided to revamp this entity I had created.

And so I did. I created a Sonic style blue Fox character, the first drawing of her is here: [link]

As you can tell, there are minor differences design wise between this original draft and the picture I'm uploading now. She still didn't have much of a back story yet, but at that point I had already decided that she would be a water goddess and was unable to speak (something that changed months later). She as still clearly a prototype for the Fiz you know today.

Over the years I've been continually revamping her back story, but the things that never changed was that shes a goddess and fox. The original draft of her story was that she was forced to be an Ancient for her crime (which had not been defined as of then), and while she was an Ancient she made a major mistake and in punishment she was wiped of emotions and the ability to speak. That changed later on.

Eventually after years of tweaking her, I finally got her where I liked her. Yes, for the longest time, I hated this character for what she was: a self centered cold hearted killer. Slowly I began tacking on some of my personality traits and other random things about me onto her. For example, we both cannot swim. And even though some things changed for me, they didn't change for Fiz. For example, for a while I had vowed to celibacy for various reasons (which changed because I'm a horny shithead), so I made Fiz celibate, and she remained that way.

Now Fiz and I's personality is not much different. We're both caring when we want to be, cocky, self-centered, thick, stubborn, powerful to some degree, emotional retards, and most importantly we're both prone to explosions of temper.

But even with that, me and Fiz differ in many ways. Shes a reformed uncaring tyrant while the worst I've done is severely hurt the feelings of my peers but acknowledge guilt of it.

However, in a way, Fiz and all of her forms/incarnations represent a part of me.

Pirate - My tyrant/devious side
Princess - My pure side
Nega - My dark, sinister side
Solstice - My monster of rage
And of course, Fiz herself represents my normal, every day me.

I like to see Fiz as more of an icon for myself rather than me. I use her to represent my feelings or to represent my actions towards a certain event. But I also give the cold shoulder to her evilness, not wanting that to penetrate me.

So, I guess, in a way, Fiz is me but is still her own entity, just as I am.
