I like these bird characters, so many of them. I do like their designs, quite colourful and unique looking. Salt and Bird seem interesting, as I'm partial to robot/cyborg characters.

Oi!  Thank you!
I don't own all of them anymore, though... had to cut down a ton on characters because I had so many.  XD

You're welcome.
Ah that's too bad, hopefully you kept your faves at least. Though I do think it's possible to keep a ton of characters, if you create a complex enough story/world.

I have indeed, and added a few to the cast.

My problem is that I don't use them.  I have ideas, I make characters, I create complex backstories and personalities, and promptly... leave them to rot.  -_-  I love the characters still, but they don't get any love sometimes... and that's when I have to let them go.

That's how I used to be like, especially back in grades 5 and 6. My stories stayed around for maybe a few months, but then dropped them after a while. Sometimes I created several stories during a single period of time. I didn't develop any story stability until slightly more than a year ago, when I finally laid the foundation of my current story "The Singularity". Though I had most of my characters around before that. Really, my suggestion to you is create a world you really like and some of your favourite OCs and go from there. I've actually started on world building and developing character backstories and relationships before I came up with the actual story.

My stories come and go in waves... typically I don't just quit them, but rather come back to them and develop upon them every once and a while.  I guess it also doesn't help that a lot of my characters end up being roleplay characters, which are set in a typically very unstable world in terms of consistency and immortality.  I'm not a huge writer, but rather am one who likes to develop background information, theories, concepts, ect.  I typically don't have the patience to write a full out story.  -_-  It's very annoying.

Hmm, I see. It's more just me (not so) recently discovering the beauty of having a centralized story. Though that's not to say I don't have other story ideas, I have at least 5 more. Two of them being fan fictions, one which is Budgie Trek and another which is based off of Inside Out. I also have a more seemingly "supernatural" story, though I'm honestly not fond of that genre but this story is actually more sci-fi anyway. It's an idea I got in a dream about these strange creatures of the night. There's also a story for a game I started to program, which is called "Holographic Universe" and is pretty cyberpunk. Then there's the story I'm developing with a friend at school, which is also cyberpunk and is about these rebel aliens in another star system. I need to come back to most of these stories, though fortunately I decided not to abandon any of them.

Some of my characters came from RPs actually. I do remember when I used to RP constantly, but quit because most of the friendships I had with longer-term RP parters ended in a flame war. I'm not sure why this is, but I don't want to delve into the RP world again. It's true RP worlds are very inconsistent, and actually warped the personalities of a lot of my characters. Yet another reason why I don't RP any more. I'm not a huge writer either, but would like to be. I also have a ton of background info, concepts and theories and would like to have them all written down. I'll really need to find the motivation to write out my story.

See, I have a 'central' world of sorts that exists non-canon to everything else.  Since making it about -say- two/three months ago, it's really helped me settle in with characters.  It's essentially a hodgepodge of every single one of my characters - of fanfiction and of original creation- which live in a self regulated universe of about six different star systems.  I think it helps because then I see characters in light of how they would react to situations they could never be in on their 'home world'.  In essence it's like taking each of my characters and making a separate 'actor' for them: someone who's of similar personality, same name, age, ect., but lives in a different 'parallel' universe of sorts.

Ah, so you're a programmer?  One of my good friends is making a game as well... though goodness, I can't hardly understand BBC coding!  XD

Either way, each of those concepts sound interesting!  I've got to see the one based off of Inside Out...

I really only ever RP with someone A) if someone contacts me personally B) if it's in a DeviantART group, which actually helps there to be consistency as well as moderation in a roleplay, or C) if I've known someone for a long time.  For the most part, B and C are the only times I roleplay, and I often try to plan a plot beforehand so that I don't end up warping my characters too much.  In fact, a lot of my collaboration works are written in roleplay format and edited from there... Indeed, though, the world of roleplaying is incredibly finicky, and you have got to be careful with what you do and who you roleplay with, or your characters will come out warped for the worse.

Oh that's a good thing, seems to me you have a start on a possible larger story. Since it only happened recently, it's possible it'll evolve into something larger. Only time will tell. It's good that it helped you settle in with your characters. Though I personally keep my original and fan characters separate, for the reason that I may want to make my original stuff more "out there" some day. I like the idea of 6 different star systems, since that also indicates space travel. It's interesting that you explore character reactions this way too.

Only an amateur. I had programming at school, but I intend to expand on the skills and to attempt to teach myself. I like the concept of programming, and have a fascination with machinery.

Thanks! I hope that someday all will be completed. I have some sketches of the Inside Out one on my fan art account, if you're curious.

I never RPed in groups, actually. Mainly because I prefer one-on-one anything. It is good that you at least tried to plan the plot ahead, because that's unfortunately something I didn't do. Or rather, I was always the only one responsible for the plot while the others sat back and enjoyed the show. Even if they started out interesting they always go down, because I become sick of being the only person coming up with anything creative. Yes, unfortunately I learned the lesson the hard way, that RPing is a risky world. My poor character Korsho always ended up being too nice in them, whenever I read back. Not sure why it happened. In the actual story he's pretty scary.
