Description Vue 10 render. I am wanting to simulate a more photorealistic kind of render.

Please comment and let me know how to make this better.

Thanks!!!

Wow! This is a really great scene! Your ecosystem looks amazing. The only thing I might change is the camera position. Perhaps moving the camera lower would make the scene look bigger, but that could also have the negative effect of obscuring the mountains in the background so it might not be ideal. Really nice render. Good job!

fizzoman In reply to fractal2cry [2012-09-27 19:36:49 +0000 UTC]

I only have one rock in this entire scene The cliffs are just scaled up and rotated to make the look I want and then the ecosystem is populated over the top of them. I did use a rock texture. Have fun playing around

I try to realize that all a render is, is an illusion. And then see what I can get away with. It really helps render times that way. The water for instance has no blurred reflections turned on. Instead I have a function that makes a ton of little ripples on the bump channel which reduces render time alot.

The atmosphere and moss looks very good ;clap: That twisted rock pillar looks very cool on its own but somehow doesn't look like it "belongs" to the surrounding landscape (since we would expect to at least see some similar formations in the surrounding cliffs )

fizzoman In reply to Chromattix [2012-09-27 10:52:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I 100% agree. The pillar was put in last minute to give some interest to the render. In revisions if I do one I will be deforming the pillar so it blends better as well as working on the atmosphere and mixing in some flower/bush ecosystems for the caps on all my rocks to mix up the color palette a little. This render was mostly about the light since vue renders never really look real. Cheers.

I really like this! I guess if I put aside artistic appreciation for a moment and think about it critically, my only question is if your goal is for it to be both super bright and photo-real, would you expect to see a more brilliant sky? And the answer might well be no, so don't take my thought as an assertion at all, but rather me just trying to think it through. Maybe you see exactly this type of situation in nature at certain places.

More blue sky is definitely something for me to work on in this render. I just need to drop the haze and fog levels a bit I think. Thanks!

Looks good to me

perhaps add a few breaks in the mist to show the blue sky behind? That would give the sky a sense of depth, I think. Other than that, it looks brilliant...although there really is almost too much tall grass on the sides of the cliff...perhaps a few flowering plants? or small bushes?

brilliant stuff though. I wish I could paint like that...it would make my drawings look so much better. ^v^

You can make it more realistic by adding some lens deformation. one that helps a lot is to move your Blue and Red Layer (from the RGB) 1 or 2 pixels appart

I love it!
...
Personally, i think saturation is high, maybe decrease a little bit.
But if u did in purpose as title "ultra bright atmo", so it's still work.
You may consider about mountain on the left side, I feel it, i dont know,... flat, maybe Just made something like the right side, it's perfect with depth and variety.
Well, this just really my personal thinking. Hope it help you in some aspects.
Anyway you did a great work

I was about to comment on how beautiful the photo was, but I noticed its in the digital art category. And, of course, I died.

I stared at it for a long time and I still can't tell it isn't a photo!
