A few hours into the race in HOT Australia, Maya and Lightning were more than glad to find themselves at a stream. Maya wasted no time steering Lightning into it.

After the mare had had a loooong drink, they continued through the stream, until Maya heard a loud *SPLASH*.

Both girl and horse looked up and Maya had to hold back a giggle as she saw a rider being dumped into the water by his horse.

Calmly Maya and Lightning continued in their direction as the rider - who Lightning now recognized as Vidar from Royale Pirate Stables - got up, took off his shirt and wrung it out while walking towards the edge of the stream.

'Lookin' good.' Maya thought, wondering if she should call out or not. 'I wonder how he got the burns though...

"Ahoy there!" Maya called as she was now quite close to the two - both of which were dripping.

She immediately got both of their attentions, but before either could respond, she continued;

"See you at the finish line." She challenged as she nudged Lightning into a slow trot, splashing water everywhere, delighting in the splashes she got onto her own body.

Things I learned about Australia that I did not know before drawing this image
Australia is officially called the Commonwealth of Australia. The name Australia is derived from the latin term australis, meaning southern. The country was at first referred to as Terra Australis (Incognita).
The Australian Stock horse and the wild Brumby are two Australian horse breeds.

EDIT: Now that my entire family isn't waiting on me;
I'm soooooooo glad to have this finished! It was fun to do all of these - and a great learning experience to boot - don't get me wrong, but my arm/wrist/fingers are seriously overworked now and need a break! (if my over-active annoyingly imaginative brain will allow it)

The background could be a bit more detailed, but I sorta like it's barren-ness...
