Description
Former Post Office for the ghost town of Kelso, California. Kelso was a train stop for the Union Pacific route between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. This subject matter would normally lend itself to black & white, however, I wanted to show the intense colors of early afternoon in the Mojave Desert.
There is so much I like about this location: The weathered wooden beams above the door and windows, the perfect window frames, the disintegrating highway. I also like how none of the straight lines seem to match up, they give a sense of unease and enhances the impression of time sliding past this abandoned place.
