a domestic cat i tanned for a client
i hate that there's so many stray cats out there that get hit, i hope there's an afterlife where this kitty knows she has a safe home now!

i didn't personally skin her, the person who found her did. though i have skinned cats before.
i can definitely understand that taxidermy, especially when it's a domestic animal, can be disturbing. just know that this is one of the ways of honoring and caring for an animal after its death, the same as someone who might keep a loved one's ashes in an urn. it's not for everyone, but it isn't horrible. the animal isn't hurt at all by being skinned and preserved

she certainly is! she reminded me of a gooorgeous black cat i found on the side of the road that seemed to be in good shape but i couldn't pick it up due to the roadkill laws here ;___; i was so upset, i love black cats!
