Deathstar 1 and 2 are just target practice for Yamato i mean if you watch 2202 you'll see Yamato destroyed Ark Of Destruction which is a JUPITER Size Space Fortress and Deathstar 2 is not even the size of the Earth's Moon

It was the live action film that got me looking all over for the classic anime again. I remember the first two story arcs from when they showed it on TV years ago, and it certainly stayed awesome with age! And when I saw what more there was to it, you know I had to take a chance on the DVDs when finding a sweet deal.
Have been watching the "2199" reboot they started back in '12 online. Now, if only there were DVDs available here in the US for cheap. Amazon has the imports for insane amounts!

I liked the yamato 2199 reimagining than the awful 2010 live action and the 2009 resurrection
it is like Godzilla the animated series redeemed the 1998 american godzilla filmed

I agree with the Screw the Death Star...
But the ORIGINAL Planet Killer was the Kelvan Planet Killer from Star Trek: it had it's own Wave Motion Gun.

Saw the movie on Blu-ray with English subtitles, and it's the best live-action film adaptation of an anime I have ever seen. Most of the live-action films based on cartoons and animes that I saw are god awful, but Space Battleship Yamato really proves that not all of them suck. Highly recommend watching it. No regrets

You guys could actually get it from Youtube. It only needed some patient and tedious searching. It has good quality and with subtitles. It was an awesome adaptation. Not some Micheal Bay works.

Yaay!
George Lucas most likey ripped the "super laser" idea from Space Battleship Yamato.
And Star Wars is starting to suck.

NVM, I didn't read your comment carefully before I posted. He may have came up with it before but I'm not so sure about the death star idea being his own.
Again, I could say the Leji Masumato(creator) came up with the Wave Motion Gun before Lucas did the death star.
Or what probably/actually happened, Lucas and Masumato both had the same idea and had no idea that the other existed. Anyways, I can still say the BSG series ripped off of this.
