I took quite a while on this. I had a lot of free time, and thought i'd make the most of it. I'm quite pleased with the result too.
I love Final Fantasy 8. It was the first Final Fantasy I ever played. And my second favourite character was Rinoa, my first being Squall. They make such a great couple ^-^

Since the lineart is not yours, I will not comment on it.
The coloring could be better: shading, layers, etc. Also, keep track of your light source. In this one, it's obviously coming from above. Use references if necessary.
The image itself is very dark, and because of that, the background is almost invisible.

i just stumbled on this work and i must say great job on coloring!!! I mean really 
Nice kinda reminds me when Rinoa found Squall lying on the ground & she sorta transformed that barren place to their meeting place/meadow...

And yeah, it does remind me of that now you mention it. I cried on ending. Heck, i cried when Edea chucked that ice through Squall's chest at the end of disk 1. God, i'm a wimp when it comes to Final Fantasy ^-^

lol! when disc 1 ended, i didn't want to continue playing i actually stopped for like weeks cause i really thought Squall died [what would happen to rinoa now?!!

God, reminiscing FFVIII sure makes me wanna wish for a sequel!!! FFVII has gotten quite a lot of exposure.... tsk, tsk,... **camps outside Square-Enix and waves ideas at them**

And me!!! I cried so much at that outer space scene. I thought i was the only one, lol. I had to even turn away at bits, because it was so sad. Like when Squall's ring floated up infront of her eyes. And yeah, i love the bit where Squall saves her, (again) as he's completely changed. The way he smashes in and uses his gunblade to get her out of there. God, Rinoa's a lucky girl
And i think that's cruel what they did at the start of disk 2. Made you play as Laguna, so you were led to believe that Squall was dead.

hehe so other people do get emotional over Final Fantasy as well.
i LOVE the whole concept of the final fantasy games the only 2 that have got on my nerves was.
- Final Fantasy X : Reason, you do all the hard work of the game to then find out it was all basically a dream kinda? if i remember correctly.
-Final Fantasy X-2: Reason, Felt this game was truly stupid, felt like a Charlie's Angels Spin of with final fantasy twist.
Anyway back to you coloring,

*phew* so it's not just me then ^-^ I just love the final fantasys. Each one is just absoloutly amazing. Except... i don't find 12's storyline too gripping. It doesn't... well... keep me glued like the others did. Well, i'm still playing it, so i'll see where it leads me
I disagree with you about X, as although that's true, it's makes for such a sad ending. I was in so many floods of tears (god i'm a wuss

yeah i know what you mean about 12 not having a gripping story line, but still has not stopped me playing, i aint even that far in the game im on the bit were you have got all the characters unlocked lol, but i have nearly 95% of the license board unlocked for every characters, i love doing that in final fantasy games.
Like on seven i would not leave the first disc until i had them all on the verge of being a level 99 lol.
and x was ok i just did not like that ending is what i was ment to say. because it is like you do all that to then find out it basically was a dream.
and no offence taken about the X-2 thing. and yeah allthough it was lame i have completed it a couple times aswell lol, only 100% a while ago.

And I really like the circle of light ,very good idea- adds a little emphasis to the shape of the wings in particular.
Her face however I think has lost some of the softness which it had in the original line art.
But I still love this image - great work!

I don't know anything about final fantasy, but this looks good. I know the lineart isn't yours, but the mood of the colour is awesome. Did you use a drawing tablet? I have to get one of those tablet things one day.

Naa squall is a typical teen with attitude but Laguna in the other hand is charming, clumsy funny and sweet kind of guy. He like julia yes but he end up with Rain. Squall mother

Yep, it's the best but the aeons are a bit of a let down, they're really weak.
I had to do an angel once for a commission, the wings took THREE DAYS alone

Aww, that's a shame. I love the summon beasts. That's one reason i didn't like X-2 (apart from the fact that it was totally aimed at a male audience) i didn't like the dress spheres. And no summon monsters either.
Woah! God, you must've been exhausted! I can't imagine a piece lasting that long. I bet they looked great in the end though

Great job on giving the lineart a life of it's own. Now there is a setting that gives the picture a mysterious atmosphere. I especially like the shading on the wings.
