You have enormous talent and a very powerful technique. It's amazing how you don't ultrasmooth superblend omfggottasmoothitout your values. You actually paint, and do it well.
There is what to say about how you consciously picked the "orangest yellow" that still goes with purple, I can really admire complementary harmonies with a brave little twist like that.
The only negative is the composition with the pose requiring some thought the next time you'll hit the dynamic tone on a stationary note like this. But that's only because clearly you wanted to show the creature and its power so you didn't bother to compose with blocks and didn't worry about perspective.
You should.
Believe me, it's the next level.
Do it.
This is absolutely beautiful.

Wow. Thank you. It's fantastic to read such an indepth comment like this. I really, really appreciate your words. You've really seen right into my art, all my weaknesses and my strengths. I love experimenting with colour, creating different harmonies, seeing what works together and using them against eachother. And I can't stand that overly smooth super blended style. Heck, I could probably start refining a little bit in places, but overall I love the painterly, messy kinda style. And I totally agree with the perspective and pose. I'm was getting there, but not quite. And this is what is wonderful as this is what I can build on. It's seeing, being aware of my shortcomings, and growing. Thank you!

As a long time dabbler and more of a theoretical artist who rarely actually sits down to create anything, I always look for art that I can learn new things from.
I have a degree in design and arts management and I have formal education in actual manual arts too. Sat my arse drawing cubes for long years in school.
But in my years of paying attention to people more skilled than myself I have learned that while copying leads to improvement, adding your own mind to it is what really makes art happen.
I think there's two types of art in a sense: personal and public. Personal art is something that a person does for his or herself just for fun and it becomes public once the artist's skill reaches a certain point.
Yours has reached that point: you may be having fun but your art represents you very well.

Just as long as it's not a "Night-Mare".
Also, I prefer to address it as a "Trini-corn"(Trinity + Unicorn).

'Tri-corn'... I may use that term as part of the name of a particular made-up fish I drew that is currently called 'Unicorn Trigger Fish' but it's got 3 spikes rather than 1 on it's 'forehead' :3

Horse with canines? Definitely a nightmare! Spikey spine? Nobody is going to ride THIS horse! Very atmospheric. I do like the purples and stuff, but then I have a strong search image for purple! Not meaning to put pressure on you but at your convenience I would be curious to see the black mane and tail in your progress pics of this to compare with the final result. Nobody does light quite like you- the glowing yellow eye is very effective.
Paramina had stayed too long by the loch again, searching for her ancient friend De-athla, as she did so often in the spring. The sun's first rays did her no harm but made her feel uncomfortable and vulnerable, besides which she could hear the sounds of the Fey Anroi singing to her across the aether, so she summoned her spirit energies and galloped through the Liminus Edge and into the Shadow Realm where she usually spent the day.

Thank you so much. Love the narrative!

I have a few questions. May I use this picture of the tri-corn for a cover of a book I'm working on? May I use this picture in a book I'm doing? May I also use the character in the book also? If so you can search it up on Wattpad if you have it, if you don't you can search it up on google. To search it up on google is to type Wattpad in the search bar then click on the first one. Once that is done then on Wattpad you type in lightning-dragon and click the picture that looks like a dragon's head in the profile section. Also, I'll give credit to you and if you do say yes I can also tell you the name of the book it will be in. Thank you for your time reading this. You did a lovely job on the picture also.
