Wow! I actually learned a bit from this. I knew most of it already since I took my first "official" drawing class this year, but I didn't know about the paper's teeth. I've always wondered why I can't get those darker shades on water color paper. I often use dull pencils just because the sharpeners in our art room are so dull and old that they usually break the pencil led and aren't very effective in shaving the wood. Guess you learn something new every day. Thank you so much for posting. <3 I'm sure plenty of others will benefit from this as well.

Awesome! I'd never heard of contour hatching before.
And I didn't know about how the pencil hardness and softness worked, but now I do!

I actually didn't know what contour hatching was or at lest what it was called until I watch a pencil drawing video on YouTube not to long ago.
