OMG IS THIS A PICTURE?!?!?!Quite morbid for only three days before Valentine's... don't worry, I'm trying to squeeze in a lovey-dovey picture in before then so... D8~
If anyone knows my story at all, this scene is about Sachiya, my lovely half-monster/demon who rises back from the dead to save his loved one (from committing suicide *koffkoff*). Yep. He's been promoted from Wandering Ghost to Man-Eating Monster *shifty eyes*.
In any case, I played around with the water a bit, and pretty much texture-raped the background... The talisman/seals around him-- I'm not sure if I should leave them there or not. They create more interest in the picture and I guess adds to the depth, but they take away from his Harper Spirit (the lion)~~ but then without them the picture looks far too boring.
In any case, school's been busy. I haven't been able to draw as much as I used to (hence my lack of serious improvement. My characters still look as stiff as boards).
(HA! I set the lines on transparent, so there 0% lines in this picture *far too pleased with herself*)
(And yes, that line across his neck means he had died from beheading. It's the same as when I first drew him, in that horrible picture somewhere in the depths of my gallery... *koff*. If you're curious, you can go look at it, but... X'D)

He was killed in a massacre (aka the demons were fed up with the uppity harpers' attitudes and with the help of the seers ransacked their headquarters and slaughtered everyone: men, women, children, and infants) so it was almost an unfair killing-- killed for what he stood for, not what he was as a person.

It's a 200-page comic I've been drawing for a while now (I write stories first and develop characters later, not the other way around >w<~). Though I haven't actually gotten to this part since I went on a 1 year hiatus OwO;.
The suicide part came after he was killed; the lover couldn't psychologically live with Sachiya dead and probably would've gone through with it if it wasn't for the baby...

back to your drawing, i didn't notice until you pointed it out but his post-beheaded scar is creepy! but it really contributes well to your character's... character. o.0 you say you haven't improved much, but you're not very good at presenting your point x]

I want to visit, but our schedule never works out. Like... our spring break is cut short because of snow days, so there's not nearly enough time for traveling. I want to goooo somehwere. NC is so boring @ x @
Valentine's day was single's awareness day (haha). Sat at home and ate chocolate while watching dramas *sigh*.

i wish it could be valentines everyday. eating chocolate and watching dramas isn't so bad after all.

Competition in the schools here is tough. Tons of Indians and Chinese people with GPAs of the upper 4.5-5.0's *koffkoff*. Very scary D8. Some of them are sophomores and already finished with Calculus.
This is why UNC Chapel Hill (college around here) is so hard to get into *_____*;

seriously, just reading all that made me want to pass out. how the hell do you manage six freakin APs?! i only have 6 classes in my schedule and 2 APs is already enough for me. i'm sorry dear. that sounds just awful. being in a chinese home is already stressful enough but with that kind of competition, you must be going crazy :[
do you still have a piano? i think it's alright not to have a teacher by now since you probably have down the basics and you don't need to get much better unless if you're majoring in something music related. just playing on your own is nice. and fun. (as long as you have the motivation.. heh lol. not me)
yup! boys over flowers is a japanese manga and meteor garden is based off it and so is the japanese version of the drama and now the korean version of it. (wow that was a terrible sentence!)

I actually canceled all my old commissions and took on new ones >____<;;;. It makes me feel terrible but the old commissions were stale and most of the users had quit gaia anyway, so...
I got the results back last friday (I got in 8D) so I suppose I'll be gone all summer *w*;;;. Though I was looking forward to waking up late every day. Ah, well. This is the price to pay to make your college apps look good *shot* XDDDDD
I find I really can't juggle digital/traditional work well D8. It's either all traditional work or all digital work, and whenever I try to mix the two I end up drawing nothing instead XD.
Gaia... I always end up going back for a few months, quitting, going back... etc. Most people I know left, so I suppose the only thing I'm still on there for is the art *w*;;.

Yep, the same one I was writing before (chefs rise up from their kitchens and kill demons to save the world. Yeah. That one. The one comic I forced you and Mii to read all through freshman year X'D.) His part of the story is in protecting the Demon-Slayer (*koff*) who is in actuality his son (*koffkoff*) whom he protected by coming back from the dead to make sure his love didn't commit suicide and thus kill the unborn baby (*KOOOOOOFFFFF*).

I know it's unoriginal X'D. The entire story is one big mass of cliches, but that's what I love about it XD.
My mom hated his expression because "It makes him look evil!". But this comes from someone who hates blood/gore/evil/anything-not-rainbows-and-bunnies, so...
