Description I installed X-Plane 9 finally on my computer at home (I tried it in the USA, maybe some people do remember).
I can put it on almost highest graphic details and settings.

This is the result.. A little test flight departed from and around LOWI (Interlaken, Austria). This F-22 Raptor comes with the default X-Plane-Version. It even can shoot the gun and launch rockets

Hope anyone likes this one

FSX has much better addons, like from PMDG or so with almost 100 % accurate FMCs and stuff. But X-Plane has the BEST physics I've ever seen... Plus birdstrikes and stuff like that

Well i own FSX...but it's given me a lot of problems running it with poor frame rates despite exceeding all their hardware requirements.

FSX needs a lot of computer resources.... That's true..

Looks like Apple has outdone Microsoft in the Flight Simulator Department.

graphics look nice. What about the flight physics, are they better than in the previous version ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

flightlevel-380 In reply to Andrei-Oprinca [2009-09-20 06:45:01 +0000 UTC]

I didn't have the previous version, but compared to MSFS they are MUCH MUCH MUCH better. And much harder to control a plane though. Needs a lot of time to fly an aircraft very well, but the flight physics are the best I've ever seen in a flight simulator for PC. You even have thermals where they would be in real life, you can feel them in a Cessna as well as strong turbulences in a Boeing.
It's just awesome.
The only bad point is that there are not too much addons. However there's FS2XPlane, a tool which converts FS sceneries to X-Plane format so you can use them in x-plane

Today I read that it even has the FAA approval for use in training and school flight simulators like airlines use them. Also there is an aircraft manufacturer which uses X-Plane for test flights for their new planes before doing them in real life

Why don't you just mount them and burn only the first one for gaming?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PaulRokicki In reply to flightlevel-380 [2009-09-20 11:35:09 +0000 UTC]

i have a 80 gig hd ready for it as my 120 gig doesnt have enough space to even mount the game and install it. and since this will be my test run i wont do anything on my main gaming drive. if i had more room on it i possibly could but will not uninstall things just to make sure this game fits. and i want to install it complete to make sure everything installs without a glitch.
