Y'know, I didn't know it for a long time, but the first "Wave Race" game was actually an obscure 1992 Gameboy game. (Surprisingly, it even has the "Player's Choice/million seller" label on it.)

Yeah, I think so. They have some videos of it on Youtube. It looks a bit simple, but like an alright game overall. (Sense it's made by Nintendo it'll likely be on 3DS's Eshop some day. Though, hopefully they'll enable the 4-player mode for it, which was the game's main selling point.)
