And here it is, my latest work! I put my everything into this portrait, because I wanted to make something I could put in my portfolio, and what's better than Mr Ackles' lovely face?

Tools: Derwent Graphite Pencils: - HB for the sketch
- 2B and 3B for the stubble
- 5B for detailing
- 6B, B, H and 4H for everything else
White Gel Pen
Tissues and a paper stump
Kneaded eraser
Drawn on A4 Canson Paper

This is beautiful.
How did you create the texture of his coat though? (on the left - on the lighter side) I've seen many artists making such textures. Is there a tool that you use for it?

I don't think there are any special tools for that, at least none that I know of. It all depends on the way you choose to shade: for the coat I used crosshatching, but I particularly stressed the more horizontal lines, to give it that textured look; I usually crosshatch but later blend with a paper stump so that it looks softer. I hope it makes sense. If I wasn't clear enough just let me know and I'll try to explain it better
