Drew this for a friend's birthday. Her birthday, April 8th, is National Draw A Bird Day. So, she asked me to draw her a bird and I drew her an Ice Phoenix! ^_^ I hope you all enjoy it.Time: Approx. 2-3 hours

i like this ALOT! it kind of looks like some sort of tattoo type of thing...ha..and i love the fact that it isn't black. and i LOVE the fact that you used traditional mediums. i hate when everything is created in photoshop nowadays. i like how you incorporated sharp lines liek the wings and tail (?) while the hair is made out of soft curves. one thing that does bother me....that tip of the left wing...it's cut off. and the tail thing..is it a tail, is it a flame?

Yep, you're right in thinking it's a tail. And I'm so sorry about that tip of the wing! I ran out of room on the paper! >____<;;;;
I guess I'm not sure about the tail. It is a tail, and I guess it's flame-like? I did this completely in pen, so I didn't draw it in pencil first and therefore just drew it as I went.

Yeah, you're right. I'm actually doing some similar stuff lately. Redesigning old dragon designs. I hope to be able to put them up at some point. I was going for a regal pose, so I'm glad that came across. Thanks so much!

Well, I've really lost my heart to do poetry. All the stuff that I used to write came from my angsty teenage past that's no longer a part of me. My camera - or more accurately, the batteries for my camera - make me have to plan a day ahead if I want to take pictures, so I'm never able to get anything spontaneous. I'm going to look into getting a new camera soon, but I might get some regular AA's (not rechargeables, which seems to be my problem) just so I can have the ability to take pictures for a short while, especially now that the snow is down.
I have still been contemplating working on a visual novel, or at least the underlying Choose-Your-Own-Adventure part of it. If it gets off the ground, I might upload pieces. But I've never really liked doing larger works for deviantArt. No one is interested in reading them - and I know this because I will never read them myself.
I do still have a decent size story on here on a different account that I never linked you to. I might still do that, if you want.

We'll see when that iron kicks in. It still hasn't had much of an effect yet. Ugh. I did not sleep AT ALL, so I'm just going to go to work for as long as I can and then go home when I can't take it anymore. Hmmm....well maybe you need more inspiration or something. One way to do this is to make a list of your favorite words and make poems based off of them. Or find a favorite piece of artwork and write a poem about the emotion you feel.
Well, that sounds like a decent idea. I would get the bright green rechargeable batteries at Walmart. They seem to be pretty reliable. You'll know which ones I'm talking about right away when you see them.

We'll see, then. Once I get more free time, I'll try to start writing some pieces. If any turn out good to be stand-alone, I'll put them up.
I made a separate account for the story. It was written for a story as part of a thing I was doing with one of my nerdy little online communities. I just wanted it separate from my main account, since it's almost forty separate deviations, I didn't want to inundate people who had no idea what it was about with the stories.
