Description This was made in 2008 for a class called Creative Watermedia. That class was so fun and I had the best teacher ever. She is so creative and positive and awesome. She told us that we should draw what we love and gave us no restrictions. It was a great class. <333

Anyways, about the piece. We have art lab hours that we have to go to (you can go at any time) and then you sign the sheet saying you've been there. I could go in whenever I wanted, so I'd come in at night and make a ton of watercolor paintings. A bunch at once. The colors in this one was one of the bases I started off with. I wet the paper, made stripes of colors and sort of blended them together, and then I took a handful of water and threw it at the paper creating the splashed snowflake/watery effect. Afterward, I took some more paint and splattered here and there. After the painting dried, I went in and drew the outline of an old abstract drawing I had made. Then I colored it all in black sharpie. I really like the contrast, myself. I hope all of you enjoy it too! ^^

Comments are really appreciated.

The outlines first drew my eye away from the underlying texture but when I read your description I looked harder! The underlying paint has a really cool texture, I like the way the colors bleed together and you get cool edges in some spots and other cool effects. The crystalline pattern is especially interesting.

You should make some pieces with just the paint and no black, I'm not saying I don't like the black, its just that I think it distracts from all the work underneath and that is also very beautiful. I think you could create some lovely paintings like this!

Yeah, I wanted the black to pop out at you, so I guess it worked. Thanks, I'm glad that you read my comments and appreciated the background also.

You know, I think I'll try that. I'll experiment with colors and stuff. Thank you for such a nice comment! <3 ^///^

Though it's probably not what you were going for, it actually looks kinda violent. It started by seeing an angry eye in the center of it, then all of the diagonal lines makes it look like some raining cataclysm. I'm also seeing swords and fire in several places throughout the painting. From a distance, the background kinda looks like a nebula or something, so maybe it's an evil fire-sword mushroom alien warrior flying into combat.

Your abstract stuff is really fun.

I think I was mainly going for contrast and boldness in this one, which kind of fits what you said. You're allowed to interpret it in any way you want. Everyone probably sees it a little differently. Although that final conclusion at the end...well...XD

Thank you.

No. My final conclusion is absolute. Anyone who disagrees is simply ignorant.

Joking aside, you're welcome.
