Scientific name: Bellardia trixago
Maltese name: Perlina Bajda
Occurrence locally: Frequent
habitat: rocky sites, garigue and steppe.
other info: A sticky erect annual up to 20cm high. it has opposite lobed but pointy leaves, which get smaller as plant grows. a semi-parasitic plant, where it penetrates it's root with those of any near by plants to get water and minerals from them. flowers can be sometimes pinkish. a member of the Broomrape family.
