Situated in the south of Gozo, next to Ghajnsielem Village, Ix-Xatt l-Ahmar Bay is one of the smallest beaches on the island, and it also one of the quietest beaches in the archipelago. It isalso the only sandy beach of the south coast of Gozo, the rest of the southern beaches are gravel or pebbly. a good place for rare flora and fauna which are typical of sand-dunes. Like most Gozitan sandy beaches, the bay is sheltered by clay hills.
