I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I appriciate the attention,
but I gave no one permission to link it anywhere.
And now, to my understanding bf owns the photo and all rights to it. It says so in their user terms. . .

You don't own the rights to your own photo?

If it is loaded to fb, apparently not.

I've seen this. The issue is, deviant art shared my photo,
I did not put it on fb.
So DA has 'control' over it and fb has control over it
and it was shared even though on my page the copyright says not to share it.
That's why I'm very disapointed with DA as well.
And fb can use it comercially as it pleases and I get nothing out of it.
Now it is impossible to track who does what with the shot.
I already found out some lady has used my shot freely in fb to advertise her business,
but I had no money out of it. Not even an apology.

That is really bad when you've explained it that way - I would be really annoyed about all of it too, especially at it being used without any acknowledgement or apology. I've had one of mine shared last year on fb and twitter but it's different for me because I'm not selling the photo but the product within it.
You shouldn't have to chase these things up but people will use images they see without regard for the owner. I've chased a few down on places like ebay and etsy where sellers have blatantly used images from other artists. That kind of thing annoys me so much I could make a career out of it (although it would be an unpaid one). I'm assuming that DA retains the right to share images uploaded then? Is there any way round this apart from using a great big watermark over the image?

Hopefully it will balance on the side of positivity and you will get both sales and followers from it. Your work is very beautiful and it deserves the attention, although right now I know that can be viewed as a bit of a double edged sword. Ā

This is amazing!! The only thing that was wrong with this is that I cannot read whatever language that is, buy now that I think about it that adds to the magical mystique!!!!
