Edit: ~libidules asked my permission to use this image for a wallpaper design. I just love what she did! Take a look:After a special request, I reworked Painter's Corner to give it a golden look.
I wonder which of the two you like best!

Though, if you want some advice, I'd recommend a frame of some sort... it'll give it that final classical touch to compliment everything else in this.
And the black splotches in the background look almost like a mistake? O.O' They kind of draw your eye away from the vase in some way of disgust.

Ok, I really appreciate your comment, because I usually enable the "Advanced Critique" option and rarely get it
I'm almost totally against frames. Not always but almost. The image should be enough in itself, if it's not, if it needs the enhancement of a frame to be more attractive, it's not good enough. Obviously, this image may not be good enough, I can accept that, but I would try to improve it and not to enhance it with "outside" resources.
About the stains. They seem to draw your eye away "in some sort of disgust". This is a strong way of putting it but... great! It wasn't my intention but I like the idea. Life is like this too. You seem to have a perfect situation and suddenly it's blemished by unexpected, ugly details or events. I repeat, it wasn't my intention in this case. I tried to create a chaotic -though artistic (?)- background and the stains seemed to fit in.
