Ooh I'm quite a big fan of the purple palette it's quite nice and really pretty! Idk if this was used using the watercolour brush and it's  quite lovely as well as the rest of your watercolour stuff, overall well done!

I think the shades of purple you used could have been more varied but other than that it is a solid piece. Those eyes, man, I love the eyes.

Hi there! Saw this in and was really drawn to it! So I hope you don't mind if I share my thoughts on your piece!

When I saw the thumbnail, I honestly thought it was Amethyst, and then I read your description haha! She's still definitely got an Amethyst vibe to her, but you can tell she's much different to the character and I really like the design! Her emotion is a little difficult to read, but I think that's great! Is she sad, annoyed, just looking or turning to someone who called for her attention? I somehow like that I can't completely tell, and that makes it different to everyone who will see it.

I love the style you have with this; not completely cartoony but not completely realistic. I think the face proportions fit the style you have used. And while the body seems just a little small, I think it still fits the style. The colours you've used are beautiful and really blend in nicely together, and because of them I find the piece very calming and easy to look at, and again it makes her emotions just that little more mysterious because not many people know what to contribute the colour purple with.

The way you have painted the piece is very nice, making it seem very "sketchy" but not; it isn't perfect but I think it is meant to be that way, you can see where each colour meets and it still gives a nice shading and highlight technique, really giving it some depth. The background is also really fitting; it's the same colour scheme, blends into the fade technique you have at the bottom and has a nice technique and effect of its own. Her hair, also, is very very fluffy looking, and you did a great job with the shading and showing many portions of it and giving it volume.

The only kinda negative thing I have to say is her body seems a little flatter than her face, and also they are two slightly different colours which once noticed kinda sticks (for me personally anyway). You can see how much you've built up the shading and hightlights on her face, with loads of different variaents of purple around and on her features, but her lower half seems just a little flatter because there only seems to be one main colour used. This could be down to having one colour in a larger area, whereas there's no room to have just one large bit of colour on her face without needing shading, but again once it's noticed it kinda sticks. If you compare the two, her face seems much darker and calmer, and her lower feels brighter and more lively and for some it might not fit just right. It's not drastically off, it's just a few little things that take a bit to notice. Another thing is the sketch line on her left shoulder and under her chin; it might just be my eyes, but the line seems just a bit too sketchy compared to the rest of the image, but again this could be down to the colour. Espeically under her chin, there seems to be two lines, the bottom which doesn't need to be there and can be a little distracting if noticed...

Overall, this is a brilliant and skilfully done piece! It's beautiful, and you've done well in being inspired by something but making it your own (and not just coping) which I admire. The style is wonderful, you're very talented with the technique and the features are very fitting. The only negatives are the ones stated, but they're really small and don't draw away from the overall beautiful pieve unless compleetey focused on.

Great job! I hope to see more from you in the future! Keep up the wonderful work! (also sorry if that was a bit long, haha XD)

i like it.  at first i assumed it was showing some one sad, but purple not blue.  neat twist.  but looking again i am drawn in wondring just what emotion is purple... is the coloring reflecting her mood or is that a red herring...lol  and is her expression the key to her look.

I really love the very soft look of this piece, and how all the brush strokes seem to flow together to make the picture whole, as well as the choice to use analogous colors for the piece, I feel that it just kind of makes her personality stick out a little more, as well as the character itself. Your shading is wonderful, though the one thing I do find kind of jarring about the shading is her left shoulder. Something about it just makes it stick out a little too much, almost as if it's not actually part of her body, which might be the fact that you used an more intense light color to a more intense dark tone right next to it. Also something I just noticed that I really like is your choice to make her eyes one solid color, rather than an iris and a pupil, and making the iris part a closer color to the white than the area around her eyes, making them pop just that little bit extra is really nice. The only other thing about the picture which I just can't help but noticing is that her bust kind of seems to jut out really far, and, I think, because of the fade, makes it look like her body is really stretched out. Other than that, this is a really good piece, and I hope you keep up the good work!
