Description Tutankoopa! One of my favorite characters from the original Paper Mario. I love this guy.

Consider this picture an update of this: [link] <<
Those are actual hieroglyphics on the wall and border. I looked up real ones on the internet, and learned a bit about them in the process. For one, I learned that the Egyptians rarely used vowels when they wrote hieroglyphics (unless it was absolutely necessary, or if it was a name), even if the word was actually read/spoken with vowels... for instance, I could write "mntn" and you'd be able to figure out what I was saying. It worked a bit like that. So I kept to that tradition when I wrote these. Yes, they actually do say stuff. I figured I might as well make it have a message instead of just putting up random senseless hieroglyphics. It's just silly stuff though. On the wall it says "Beware Chomp Fury!" XD And on the top and bottom of the border, it says "King Tutankoopa" while the sides say "Desert Master." Yeah, just random stuff, but nevertheless I feel good knowing it actually says something (And they did flip their hieroglyphics around sometimes to get a symmetrical effect with their writing, so there's nothing funky about me doing that with the border.)

Remember, critique me if you see anything that needs work.

I wasn't sure which theme for Vector100 I could fit this into, but since they're all smiling like nutcases, I'm putting it with #14, "Smile!" [link]

Tutankoopa was always my favorite boss. He was so much fun to beat!! Plus I loved him in the final credits of the game. XD
Yes, he is made of awesome. Even though when I was little I read his name as "Tuna-koopa" XD

This is for the win.

Hehe, Tunakoopa That's really cute. And yes, I love the credits of Paper Mario... I've been replaying the game recently and I'm at the final battle now, so maybe I'll get to see them today!

Thank you!

Yeah, I just got to his chapter in PM (I just bought it on the VC and never had a N64).
They look funny smiling like that XD

Wow, that looks really great! I love their crazy smiles, and Tutankoopa's arms-in-the-air pose. It certainly suits the title of the picture.

I also really like the little stylistic touch where the characters overlap the border a little.

I love Chain Chomps! And they look awesome!

I always thought it would be fun to grafitti a Wrecking Ball to look like a Chain Chomp... xD

xD There's this new house they're building at the end of my grandma's street, and it's REALLY out of place.

It's huge compared to the houses around it, like boulding a three-story victorian mansion amid the beach houses or something.

Only this house is like some kind of spanish-flavored thing, with the wavy roof tiles and such.

So when my mom and I were talking about how weird it looked there, I said we should drop a Chain Chomp on it, and she asked why, and I said because they were like wrecking balls and...

Maybe I'll do that someday. Or trick someone else into doing it for me. xD

Something that confuses me: the Chomps' chains get darker as they progess. If memory serves, this wasn't in the character design, and therefore, must be shading. However, if for the first chomp, the light is coming from our direction... why does the second one also have a dimming chain as it progresses, even though it is horizontal, and is bright even as it passes behind Tutankoopa? Not a big thing, and it doesn't really bring the picture's enjoyability down- but just remember: think about why areas are shaded there, what's blocking the light, where the light is, et cetera. Once again, it might just be stylization, but I thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, I definitely think that you beat out your last attempt. :3 It's a very nicely stylized and pretty picture. The hyrogliphics are very nice and neat, and the colour scheme is pleasing to the eye. I especially like the use of the border, crossing the border, and the crazy look in the eyes of Tutankoopa's head chomp. xD

Yeah, it was supposed to represent that the chain is going further in the background, at least for the first one... and as for the second one... I... don't have a clue XD Haha, good point.

Thank you!

It's a very nice picture! And the hiroglyphics are a intresting touch!

And sorry I'm not very good at critique but maybe you could make the chomps even more happy and insane looking by making the mouth open so it looks like it is about to make a big CHOMP out of someone.

Thank you! ^_^ Actually, I tried to do that with the Chomp in front, but I couldn't make it work out the way I wanted it to. It would've been awesome though, like he's going to take a bite out of whoever's looking at this picture. But none of my attempts really looked right, so I kept it how it is...

This is really sharp. The composition is spot on, and the heiroglyphics are done very neatly and precisely (and they actually say relevant things? So awesome!) The only critique I would give you would be concerning the 'tail' of the chomp on the left. The background here is pushed up to the foreground, but his tail goes far back into space. It doesn't seem to match the environment. But, otherwise, this is really cute and could pass for an official illustration.

Hmm, I see what you mean. The wall is too close for it to make sense that the Chomp is jumping from a distance, which is what it looks like. Thanks for the tip!

OwO ... this ish awesome!

though now you need to draw General Guy and the Crystal King. XD *bricked*

...though srsly, if you did this awesome with Tutankoopa, I'd love to see you draw the Crystal King. <3 XD I think the reason I'm saying that has something to do with me watching my brother defeat him not too long ago...

The Crystal King, hmm? That would be a very interesting challenge, as I'd have to try and make parts of the picture very reflective. I just might give it a try.

I like this a lot... also Tutankoopa looks insane, in a good way... also I really need to rebuy Paper Mario and beat it for the fifth time XD

Yeah, I like your original a lot too, it looks really good.

PS: Rebuy isn't a word.

Egads, I want the game so bad ;_; Of course, I could just borrow it from my friend again, but I'd feel better if I had it for myself. Especially since his copy tends to erase itself. Happened to me when I was playing, after I beat the third chapter. But I managed to start over and beat the game without any more incidents. It also happened to my brother, but he was on the second-to-last chapter. He was understandably pissed. But I say it's karma, as he laughed when MY file got erased!

Supposedly it's coming to the VC soon? Maybe? Hopefully?

In Japan... but like the Nintendo WFC doesn't work with my network router. My friend couldn't figure it out, but I think the Nintendo WFC thingy just doesn't work with that internet router... so I have no wi-fi in my house to get it anyway.

Oh well... I don't really want to buy classic games on the VC anyway, I want to get original games. Nintendo'll probably take forever to put that in affect though... curse you Nintendo.
