More Steel spine art! It's Chris again, and this time he's not in as comfortable a situation as last time. This is actually based on a scene in the story, hence the quote above (which has been edited a bit to make it make sense out of context) Those of you who've read it will probably know what's going on, but for the rest of you, here's a link to the chapter this happens in (just in case you're curious) [link]
So yeah, first art for ages! I've been kind of art blocked lately, but I finally managed to start drawing again. I found these wonderful new brushes and I drew this to test them out, and I have to say I really like them. Here's the link to them if you want to try them out for yourself: [link]
The background was kind of rushed and it's not my best work, I'm aware of that, but I still kind of like it. It's not where I want to be, but it's a start. Anyway, thanks to ~PerrythePlatypus and ~FerraMitak-Artist for watching me stream part of this.

Aww man, for a front shot, there is quite a bit of dynamism in this. I quite like it! Plus awesome color choice as well, it's so fitting.

Wow, I did NOT recognise this as yours at all at first. It was just because I'd seen Chris before that I thought it was vaguely familiar. It looks really cool fluffy, I love the dramatic lighting, and this style is pretty neat!

It is rather different to anything I normally do, I seem to be in an odd phase at the moment. Nothing I draw looks like I drew it, for some reason.
Thanks! I think it's a bit funny that I've gone from only a faint suggestion of lighting to everything having really dramatic lighting all of a sudden. I'm really pleased you like the style, I'm going to try to draw something else in a similar one soon I hope.

Thank you! I'm so glad you think so, I've been trying to do something new with each drawing, so it's wonderful to know it's working
I've recently changed shading styles so it's good to know I'm heading in the right direction with it. I've surprised myself how much I enjoy drawing scales, I rarely draw them when I draw dragons but as I've enjoyed drawing Chris' plates and scales I might try to keep it up.
I'm really glad you think so, I do feel very sorry for him when I write, he doesn't have much luck.
I guess it's all relative, I find them easier than a lot of other mouth types.

You have! This is completely different to your normal style and I like it, it has so much detail! The shading style is softer too but a lot more realistic, I can imagine it takes some time though but I think once in a while it's worth it to take that time! Aww yeah some characters are subjected to the full brunt of our godly wrath
I don't! Beaks are the easiest lol, but canine mouths I can never draw, feline mouths are just as bad!

Thank you! I'm pleased you were able to make it as well. I like the shading style as well, I might see if I can do more in this style. Since it's set in a basement dank and dingy is exactly the effect I wanted. I'm really glad it worked.
