A render of a model I made of Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the seven stars.

I decided it would be a good idea to make a Brawl character entry spoof with it, since he has a fairly large fan-base that wanted to see him as a fighter (including me).

It's been rumored that one of the delays on Brawl's release was due to a licensing conflict between Square Enix and Nintendo, over content from Super Mario RPG being included in Brawl, and the files were supposedly wiped from the game. Squenix apparently wanted a copious amount of money for licensing.

You can still find a song list within the game files which lists Beware the Forest Mushrooms, a song from SMRPG, as one of the available songs (alongside some other removed tracks). Nobody knows for sure weather or not Geno himself was actually part of the cause of the delay, or if it was only over the song.

People often argue that the "Random" square was supposed to be Geno. A random square isn't all that important, melee had a random function, you just selected outside the character pictures if I remember correctly. Or maybe it was a button combo?

Well, you can start tormenting the internet with rumors now, enjoy!
