a piece that can let anyone indifferent. it's almost abstract, a symphony of life. rainy feelings emerged from this place. the detail of the red windows is exquisite as hell. the colours are awsomely sexy (i would like to say).
the bike is waiting for its owner with a desolated gesture. the stairs seem a fish spine, or a feline tail.
if the pic would be in black and white we could be in presence of a surrealistic version of a doubtless surrealistic pic

You'd think that plastic wheelie bins would detract from a picture but they really dont, if anything they just serve to lead the eye straight up those steps (which by the way look great). Such a great photo.

Thank you very much for the thoughful comment on this deviation. About the light not to be there, I would have to wait for couple of hours and go back later in the afternoon. There was no chance I had to be somewhere else, so I decided to take it anyway
It grew on me, I see this place as a positive place, an uplifting colourful hidden place portraying it as dark wasnt an option at the time. But now,,, thinking about it, it would make another great shot, with completely different feel to it!
..hehe next time in Newcastle, you know were I will be

hi alex. such images are very interesting, everything that is urban is basically interesting, as i told you before. you definitely prove you have an eye for nice shots, you're like me. a sort of hunting bird that has instinct and finds out these very hidden places to share with the world. the very basic point of view oh this particular photo isn't that interesting, though. as always with such problem, a viewer can picture the photographer holding the camera, standing up and shooting, and this cuts a lot of the picture's intensity, i hope you get me. a different and maybe stranger crop, like you shot the picture kneeling on the ground, maybe a bit from the left, would've make the viewer forget about you and concentrate on the dynamism of the composition. the technical limits of your camera are something we already discussed, and i wonder what you could do with a more powerful one. go ahead, your shots inspire me. in fact, it's kinda rare for me to stop by and comment on such an amount of shots from the same person. i hope my comments are useful to you. i learnt a lot from comments and critiques. plus, if one criticizes, one cares

Well, a lot of people like this one. I'll join! What a wonderful alley. And, as a cyclist, I appreciate the bike! Great light and color.
