In the early 1960s, young Americans fell hard for a new craze from across the Atlantic. Led by the Beatles, British pop and rock-and-roll bands became the biggest new thing in the States. The concerts were a sight to see- teenagers screaming, crying, and fainting upon seeing their rock-god idols. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and The Who became internationally famous. The takeover of American radio stations with English music was so complete that it was known as the "British Invasion".
