Description
Design for project hot rod, a radically re-worked 1932 Ford Roadster (also entered in a design contest some time back)I set out to combine the early lakes-style modified hot rod with classic European touring and sports cars, while mixing in a timeless industrial feel (exposed hardware, brushed and machined finishes)... The altered wheel base, severely sectioned body, and chopped and laid back windshield all have modern influences, but lack of "trendy" touches help to root the feel of the car back into a historical timeframe.
Background was created by dripping watercolor on cold and hot-press board, scanning, and digitizing... As always,m Illustrator CS2, utilizing pencil sketches.

i better get in on this .... shweeeet. are the head lights sort of floating? or maybe kinda intergrated into the body? i mean, it can't be seen really from this angle but the far light has blue right, and i just had this image in my mind of the light housing being molded into the car. random.

The idea with the headlights was to have them appear to float... As we've progressed on the design renderings, it's changed a bit, but at the stage preesented here, there would have been a small, eliptical-shaped mount that attached the headlamp buckets close to the grille shell, providing the visual "float". Great observation-- thanks for looking so close! (the mounting was purely brought on by the front suspension design, and mounting the lamps to the axle was strictly out of the question, and any other mount seemed extraneous, when compared to how hard I worked to keep the body clutter-free...)

yeah really the floating lights fit the over all style best anyway ... don't worry about the email ... i'm just glad you actually got it. godaddy pretty much told me, i dunno what's up with your email, have you tried jumping jacks? I didn't really understand that suggestion so i just live with email that doesn't work half the time.
