Description
The tale of a German muffin that was subsequently eaten by a Frenchman.

A German Muffin,
Far from home,
On a table,
All alone.

‘Guten tag!’ It cried,
To passers by,
‘Bonjour?’ They answered
In reply.

‘Wo sind ich?’
Or ‘where am I?’
The muffin asked,
Some apple pie.

‘je ne comprende pas’
answered the pastry,
so the muffin sat sadly,
looking tasty.

Along came a Frenchman,
With a French appetite
And there stood the muffin,
Smelling just right.

‘Bon appétit’ said the Frenchman,
The muffin ‘Auf Wiedersehen!’
German pride, could not,
Make the Frenchman abstain.

So the muffin was eaten,
In a linguistic recital,
But of course you’ll know that,
From reading the title!
