A picture for all the times Shu has told me about her desires to squish little owls in her hands. xD I'm sure they'd be quite a... handful to manage. /lame punTrying to create more pictures with complete backgrounds and develop this painting style more. I really enjoyed this picture, hehe. I've wanted to draw Julie for a while now. And I just can't stay away from blue-purple color schemes... ah, though I think I made Julie's hair a bit too dark/purple/blueish. D:
Anyway, to Shu: thanks for being so supportive and genuine and putting effort into all that you do for those around you.
May you one day fulfill your dreams of squishing an owl with your hands! Hope you're enjoying life, ShuuuuhuuuhuJulie belongs to the wonderful *shusical

EEK EEK ;;_____;;; <3333 I really love the colour palette and atmosphere in this, it's very... very storybookish, like all your illustrations, i always get this feeling of very fantasy-like ofr some reason AHHAA ;UUUU;; I REALLY LOVE THE OWL IN THE HOOD HAHAHHAHA NO BUT there's a sleeping cutiepie and a fat one in her hand and one on the head AJLKSDG I can't decide a favourite? BUT AEEEEEEEEEKK oh gosh what sweet beautiful twisty trees AHAHHAAH ;UUUUUUU; They're like, really tree-like? I love how the picture is tilted is but darkness of the the trees "frame" julie and the owls in the middle, and the snow buuhuhu it's so delicate and really draws your focus esp. with the dark scarf she's wearing. Whoa I can't type properly ("dark scary she's weird"? Okies) and all the shades in this picture ;_;; Wah wahhh you always have beautiful colour palettes, I'm not sure how you choose your colours but I should sit by you more often so I can osmosis your skills into me. Teehee
W-wahh I love the little fluffy things you put on julie's hood! It even HAS FURRY BITS STICKING OUT AAAAAWWWWWW ;UUUUUUUUUUUU;;;;; Wah wahhh all the little details like the bumpy snow aawwwwwww ;;_______;; <33333 I always felt like you have a lot of lovely background pieces in your gallery, esp. ones with different kinds of colour schemes, so it's always a joy to see you upload something to your gallery. ;v; Eek I can't wait to see how your style continues to develop! Hahaha... I'm not great at choosing colors, though I really like colorful-ness. @_@ In the end, I rely on color enhancing... yep. I guess more recently, I try to make the colors kind of the same so that they fit with each other. For example, if it's a blue-ish picture, I try to make most of the colors a little bit of that blue. BUT WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT your colors always go together wonderfully! It seems to me you do the similar-colors-in-a-picture thing too. So... I do not think the osmosis thing will work. Maybe some of your skill can osmosis to me though @_@
Oh, and what's really annoying is that I've realized that my laptop's colors are different from my desktop's colors. So when I saw this picture on my desktop it was so sdjfslkdfjlskdjfd and over-saturated. The worst part is that I can't tell if it's my laptop or desktop that's off... or if it's both LOL, because on each screen, everything else looks okay... just some colors are slightly different and saturated. It just bothers me, oh well. xD Yesss I finally got to complain about this, but I'm done now.
Background can be really nice in developing atmosphere but I'm so lazy and unmotivated with backgrounds a lot of the time... or I can never decide what I want for the background and then I stick some random trees in. Trees are good. Also, I found some tree brushes another user provided, and it's pretty useful, hahaha... Useful for the lazy. I agree with your earlier suggestion on drawing the background early on so that you don't get bored - that's what I did for this picture! But anyway, I guess drawing these kinds of softish, storybookish pieces are growing on me... drawing Julie in this picture was really fun.

I'm so glad you like the picture! I'm glad you're glad. Hahaha, don't toss away Julie for these owls! They're so squishy... but who knows what intentions they may have... luring you away from Julie. I hope you get to hold an owl or at least pet its head one day. Heh, if you made Julie's reference sheet earlier and I saw it then, it's like I'd have drawn a spring/summer setting... though... OWLS. OWLS make me think of winter for some reason... probably because of Hedwig and owls in general in HP. Well, regardless of setting, Julie is such a nice character to draw... I also love seeing all the styles she's being drawn in. Oh, and I was wondering if you'd comment on the scarf, yes. HAHA that amused me so much.
