Maybe try a black thin gauzy material in fabric stores? I can't remember the name of the fabric, but it's very wispy, the weave is tiny but you should be able to see out of it, and still give that intimidating warrior look.

Do you LARP? Because if you did you'd definately have the best costume there.

Actually, I wanted to start with LARP, but then my prop making skills got in the way.
It's a long story… So I ended up crafting things.
But that armor is impossible to use as LARP armor.
At LARP events people roll around, they fall, things break and that armor would totally break apart.
Usually people use real metal/leather armor over there.

You're pretty much right on all fronts from my experiance. It's a shame though, because no one at the LARP I go to has anything quite as fantastic as that. All the costumery is kind of sedate, which is a shame.

I've seen some nice LARP weapons so far,
much better than the usual things you find in every online store.
Maybe you try them?
The only thing that I have for LARP is the PU foam Ebony Dagger.

The LARP i go to doesn't allow the really fancy stuff, which is a shame. I'll grant that the swords we are allowed to use, the magic ones have some real effort put in to make them both safe, and good-looking.
I've tried to make my own, but so far have been turned down twice because they weren't up to snuff.

No it is fantasy. But the rules require we make our boffers out of pipe and foam. We can't use those cool foam rubber weapons.
