A change in the timeline led to the main guy’s mom passing away before his other two bothers, who had previously existed before the change, were born. With no places for the souls to go they both went into the first brother

The weird spirittomby patches can grow and alter his facial features to his brother’s would have looked like when they’re in control

Though when it matters they all get along they can’t help but bicker amongst themselves as siblings tend to do
