K? You mean black...? I try not to. I use pretty saturated grays. I think it may be Costco, though. PEPhoto prints them fine.

That's weird. I stopped using K, and so far every print I've made has looked exactly as it does on the screen. Must be Costco.

About the dark prints: you should read up on associating your printer's color profiles in your drawing program so that prints comes out closer to what you see on-screen. A monitor color calibration device would also help greatly, but that costs money... :/
