A preview pic for An Emergence 5: "Momentum" [link]There is a scene in which Inupop holds Sessmom's face in the story.
Since the big accompanying picture will always be Sesshoumaru, I thought I would do his parents for the small preview pic.
Sesshoumaru's mother & Inu no Taishou => Rumiko Takahashi's characters.

I'm pretty busy lately and can't catch up with my own work I like to do, or even to visit DA often. But I can at least try answering some of the questions.
I actually have a lot of traditional training (in drawing and oil painting etc, realism) So drawing manga style was an easy transition from what I knew how to do. Manga/anime style is about knowing how to "approximate", using fewer elements compare to traditional realism. I find knowing what to emphasize and what to edit out is important.
I knew nothing about photoshop when I started. I still don't know very much. The program I use is nothing fancy. I started with very old old photoshop, which became unusable when I changed my computer. Then I got wacom tablet, and switched to photoshop elements4 that came with the tablet. Neither of these programs has as much options as the latest photoshop program. I don't know enough to suggest a good program except to tell you what I'm using.
I figured my way of doing things intuitively. I experiment until I find a result that seems right at that time. I'm sure I do many things inefficiently, when it comes to CG. Regardless, I think the original drawing on paper still is the most important part, and that is the stage I spend most time on. It is hard to mess up a decent drawing. (though possible

Thank you. You have been informative and detailed and I appreciate that. I wanted to get a tablet, but I have no idea what it would cost and if it will let me write pieces or type in a sense. Like perhaps write it first then convert to word or notepad and transfer the writing to typing. Is that possible. Also, what are the prices of those things so I can have an idea.

You can google "wacom tablet" and get all the info you need, better than I could tell you. Tablet is normally used to draw on, while using photoshop or other image-creating applications. You could write with it like a pen, but it doesn't work as well and hard to control.

Do you draw it by yourself(by hand,i mean) or in teh computer?

?? My drawings are always done by hand on a piece of paper, but I often color it on computer after scanning.

Well, Foo, the only thing I see wrong with your lovely ideas is that no where does RT admit that Sesshou-sama's father's true name is Inu no Taishou. It IS his title, however. He is THE Inu no Taishou. But alas it is not his name.

well, that is a new info to me that RT "admit" that.
I'm a native Japanese speaker, and I usually follow what I read in Japanese.
This is not known in English speaking fandom, but Before movie 3 came out in Japan, In press release his name was revealed as "touga-ou". However, when the movie came out, the name was not on the print or in credit. So technically, it is correct that his name is still left as Inu no taishou.
But most Japanese fanfic writers, use "Touga-ou" instead of Inu no Taisyou, because Inu no taishou but I don't use that name when I write in English to avoid confusion.
I don't know where you read that information, but as far as Japanese language wise, Taishou is not a word for a name, like i don't hear someone named "general". That is how I understand it, if I am reading Japanese text normally. I'm not disputing what is widely understood in the fandom over here(I consider them separate over here and there), but I'm likely to keep my understanding that way unless I read some information in Japanese. I have seen so many mistranslations and misrepresentations.

Well then, there you go. I haven't kept up with InuYasha or anything of that sort for about.... a year, I think. My sources are old and misinformed. I'm ignoring it...chasing the same bad guy for God knows how long tends to make me lose my interest. >> And blowing off Sesshoumaru tends to bother me.

If you haven't kept up, then i suppose you don't know that he got his arm back and a new sword?
She does blow Sess off, I get that feeling even when she is giving him these upgrades because how he gets them seemed forced and done out of convenience.
My interest in Inuyasha is pretty accidental and very limited and focused around one character.
Plus, I never was fan of RT's style....

Now that I found out purely by mistake. I find it funny that RT even bothers continuing the plotline... the fanfiction tends to be better than her original story. Like, for instance, yours.
A friend and I compared manga scans of Sesshoumaru, I noticed he goes from looking faintly child-like to sort of built up, like he took steroids or something. His face also goes from rounded to oval. It's amusing.
In any case, Sesshoumaru rocks even if InuYasha bites the big one.

it was such a small area, and solid color was bit heavy, and i wanted something simple, and this worked better than other options I had. I prefer it more than someting in red or green on her.

I think intelligence has nothing to do with gender, but guys can become slaves to their libido sometimes.
I think it is completely possible for a person to love more than one person at the same time. Everyone's different, and no relationship is the same. It's just that men have more propensity to seek more partners than women in general, and most women do not tolerate it well.
